I upgraded from an A6500 to an A6700 a few weeks ago. I was a longtime Canon guy, and while the A6500 took great photos, it wasn't as "fun" as my Canon bodies were. The A6700 has brought the fun back. The A6500 only let you use the touch panel to focus, and even then, it wasn't that responsive; I always felt like I was fighting the controls. The A6700 lets you control everything through touch, and it's so fast to change settings now. And the AI autofocus is the chef's kiss. It finds the target and locks on instantly. The keeper rate is just on a whole new level.

I love my 6700 I picked one up the day they went on sale in Australia. I've sold my A7sIII and now just run with the 6700 & A7IV, I find the video side of the 6700 very good. That new af system is awesome, the menu system is fantastic. You get a lot of bang for your buck with the A6700. PS I've not had the camera over heat on me as yet.

Great review. I started with a Sony a6000 10 years ago. Bought the a6700 shortly after it came out. It's a beast for wildlife photography and shooting some slo-mo video in short bursts. I use full frame glass with no issues. 11mm for vlog, 24-70 f2.8 GMII for ouside vlog with auto frame, portraits & pseudo macro, 70-200 f2.8 for walking around in the woods and pseudo macro, 200-600 for wildlife photography and video. With the 11mm I can just hold it up facing me and push the button on the lens to start recording. I haven't ran into the overheating issue so far but will be testing it ou in FL this Summer. I use short bursts of video 10-15 minutes at a time and even at 120 4k with no overheating.

I really like the camera. But a few things. There is no noise reduction option in software in video mode. It's S-LOG 2 missing to, and I don't know why it doesn't have a slot for a card capable of 500MB data speed. So why is there such an option in video mode?! I was disappointed by the sensor's knowledge, the 5dII knew as much.

There is no HDR mode on the a6700, correct? Only HLG HEIF when viewing on an HDR compatible device?

If Sony was able to make an apsc camera, the FX30--which does NOT have overheating problems, they could have done likewise with their latest release. No this is not the camera for a serious filmmaker person like myself. Wish Sony would release a7000 without those headaches NOW! 😎😎

Depends on which filmmaker u are. I do commercials and short films but i never once shoot straight 45mins. Our max clip per take only 4-6mins and that happens rarely if the talent mess up alot

Hmm, the usb for mitigating the overheating interests me. I tried powering the a6700 without a battery, this did not work. I did not try this plugged into my computer, just an apple charger. USB power setting is on, and this charges via this method no problem. Seems strange this would help with overheating? Any insight on this?

A6700 + sigma 10-18 2.8 + sony 18-135 + (sigma 56 1.4 or viltrox 56 1.7~release soon) =super lightweight travel/do all kit APSC high iso noise can be solved by using Lightroom AI denoise, result is unbelievable

I own an A7CR and A7CII. I originally purchased them as travel cameras. But, I like them so much that I'm considering selling my A7RV cameras. Might even buy an a6700. I'm all about smaller and lighter these days.

I owned an A6600 and loved a rangefinder type of camera. And now on the fence between A7CR and A6700. If money is not an issue, which one will you choose between the two?

@@trivacker I would choose the A7CR. But, that's me. You have to decide what is right for you.

I had an a6600 that took some amazing photos but this time I went with the XS20. It the best Fuji I've owned and the colors are simply amazing. Talking about making photography fun that is Fuji 100%. Having said that this is a top tier camera. Sonys eye AF is beyond anything I've seen. Fuji beats this in battery life and IBIS. I find this a hard competition between the 2. It really depends on what you value the most.
