*The world doesn't need another 4K resolution video capable mirrorless camera ! For $7,500.00 USD, I certainly do expect much more, in terms of video performance than 4K resolution video capability. How about 12K video resolution and a 60.1 MP sensor ?*

The point is I don't have to pay $7,500.00 USD for a 4K Camera, when I can get an excellent quality 4K UHD camera with a 1 inch APSC Sensor for under $1,000.00 USD. In fact I bought one as soon as it became available - It's called The DJI Osmo Pocket 3. While we're on the subject of digital IMAX, the very definition is a misnomer. True IMAX is 15 Perf 65 mm Eastman Type - 2 Motion Picture Negative, with enough resolution to equal around 16 to 18K, so not even a 12K resolution mirrorless camera would be suitable for IMAX production. Most IMAX purists refer to the current state of digital IMAX as "LIEMAX." The point is when you pay $7,500.00 for a mirrorless camera with a big sensor, then you expect higher resolutions should be available then the usual 4K 120p, or 8K 30p standard fare. You expect 4K 240p and 8K 120p at the very least for spending that kind of money.

@@pixelledus Yes. The Black Magic Design URSA Mini Pro 12K, the upcoming BMD New 12K Cinema Camera, and the 17K BMD Cinema Camera is coming end of August.

Honestly I’d be weary to purchase a Sony camera at launch. Let’s say the a1mii was released next week. In a years time better camera would be released with more features at a lower cost. After a7siii and a1 users were ignored with a firmware update for months. I think my next camera will be from another brand
