I miss my a6400 , I upgraded to the Sony A7III and gave the APSC 6400 to my younger brother and I've come to the realization full frame is not that important , and especially when your going full frame most full frame lenses are crazy expensive, I know the lens you were using is a full frame lens but great video to show all of us what you can do with APSC sensors and still achieve superb photos.. technology has come so far!!

Hi! Thank you for sharing! The 18-105 f4 is an APSC lens, there is a fullframe lens which name is kind the same 24-105 f4, but its not the same. I agree, fullframe lenses crazy expensive. I have 3 apsc lenses of the cost of one fullframe lens. I think FF in not that important. Some situations you can enjoy the fullframe benefits like great dynamic range and shallow depth of field and better lowlight capabilities, but it's not a must. The images which made by apsc cameras are super good nowadays. I like the compact form factor. Have a nice day mate!

I agree. Full frame lenses are so expensive. A few years back, I upgraded from a Sony a6000 to the A7ii. If I had known how expensive full frame lenses were, I would have kept my a6000 and my old Nikon 3300.

Interesting views of Budapest - it is still on my bucket list of city trips! Lovely views and interesting streets! Makes me want to go there much more now!

Awesome video again! It would be really nice if you could also add the values of the original photos next to the edited ones, or maybe show a before and after. I know it is a lot of work more but it would add a great value to your already great content! I really like your editing style, and would love to see a tutorial when you edit some of the pictures you take on your photo trips!

I show it rarely, but i think it's more spectacular if I show it in every picture. Now I'm working on Lightroom editing breakdown videos with different kind of looks. Very nice and inspiring photo walk! And the edits to the point 👍🏻. May I ask you what AF mode do you use? From the POV it seems like continuous, but wide or zone? Because i am using single shot and sometimes i am missing shots in the streets.

Thanks man! 🙏 I use continuous autofocus on wide most of the time. If it needed I correct with touch autofocus. Mainly I use touch focus instead of touch tracking. But usually I have to take at least 3 pictures until I find the good composition and focus. Have nice day mate! ✌️

It's a really versatile focal range. For some reason I'm unable to get sharp images with it, even when stopping down to f/8. Not sure if my lens is faulty or if I'm too spoiled with the Sigma trio. Great shots, really nice edits!

You're right. It's not that sharp. Those sigma lenses are much sharper than this lens. I like more the look of my primes. But if you don't have time to adapt to the situation, the versatility is king. That's why I use it. Simple and easy. Maybe it's not perfect, but I can get the job done. Thank you for sharing. The sharpness of this lens can be judged in two different ways: 1) near minimum focus distance (MFD) and 2) to infinity. I have it for 6 months and i had the same complaint about sharpness (i came from Zeiss primes and Canon L lenses). So, on MFD or up to 20 meters away the sharpess is outstanding at about f5.6, it even matches my Zeiss Distagon! But from 25m to infinity the sharpness falls off badly... Initially i suspected the AF but no, even with MF the sharpess is just adequate to infinity. But i don't care that much. Is a very solid lens overall: very useful focal range, great build quality, and impressive sharpness for close ups. I used it recently for a car show shooting and the images was tac sharp (i made A2 prints).

Looks great I not long picked up the 6700 but I've been using my A7IV FE lenses on it. I was thinking of getting this lens for my 6700 or maybe the sigma 18mm - 50mm. Loved your colour grading.

Thanks! I really appreciate that. 🙏I can recommend the a6400. I think this is the best sony camera for beginners right now. It's a little bit pricy, but if you compare the image with sony prosumer cameras, you wont see the differences at all. So with this price i think it's a good deal. And you can buy used too, it's cheaper and works great. I dont know what do you mean under "filter". Like instagram filters or camera buildt in "effects"? I shoot in RAW format and because of that i have a lot of flexibility at the editing part. I use Lightroom. i made some presets to manipulate the colors/contrast/exposure the whay that i like. Usually i just drop my preset to the image and than i make a lot of masking to shape the lights and colors etc.. and separate my subject from the background. And that's why its PoP up more.. Thats my editing workflow usually. I never use buildt in camera "effects" because it ruins my image. I need raw files and in the editing part i add some effects to it if i want. But i'll do Lightroom editing breakdown how to use presets or how to work without presets, but it's a little bit advanced. I hope it was helpful to you. 😊

what a great color grading, how do you do that? I use the same camera and lens but I don't know how to color grading it :(

Hi! Thank you, I really appreciate 🙏☺️ You're so nice. I think the best advice that is shoot as much as you can. Every time you'll be better and better. Learn your camera and get used to it. I think first I would try to learn one focal length at the time and when I master it I would go for the next. Also you can find a lot of videos on KZread which is about how to make better pictures. So you can learn a lot of things like framing, composition, correct exposure, focusing and a lot of techniques. I think 18-135 is very versatile so you can learn a lot with that. I have a quick guide for setting up the a6400 in my channel, but you can find other videos where you can get really good explanation about the features. So go for one setting and try to learn it until you can do things without thinking. The next part is the editing part. There are a lot of videos in KZread, but I also would make tutorials about post production workflow in Lightroom, Photoshop, Dehancer and the base of color theory, basic corrections, masking etc.. So there are a lot of things to learn, but it's so fun.. after a while you don't have to think, just do it. So my friend go out and shoot something. Your job is to try to show it in an interesting way. I always try to think like that. And the most important thing is that: Have fun and enjoy the process. 😎🙌

Thanks man! 🙏 I think for low light the full-frame a better choice, because of the bigger sensor collects more light, but... I think it's not that much difference. You can do it with apsc cameras too. I think with fast apsc prime lenses you'll be good at night. So I recommend to buy an APSC instead of the fullframe. FF just slightly better and you have to pay 3-4 times more for the body and lenses too. If you want I'll make some comparison with my FF and apsc cameras. And you can see that you can't tell which camera is which. So Overall I recommend the a6400 from sony apsc with prime lenses like sigma 16mm, 30mm, 56mm for street photography at night. Do you recomend upgrade the kit lense 16-50 for this one 18-105? Many videos say it is better for video.

Thank you for asking! First it can be a tough question, when you thinking about that upgrade. But.. The 18-105 is a lot better lens. You have much more versatility with 18-105 range. For videography its very handy, because you can quickly make Tight shots and totals too. And the constant F4 makes it so easy. I hate the variable aperture of the kit lens. Every time it brakes my flow when i try to make quick BROLLs. And with the F4 you can make background blur too on the 105 area, but you cant do it with the kit lens. When you're at 50mm it's on f5.6 so you have almost 0 bokeh. And the internal zooming good for gimbal work. Also the optical stabilization is great. It can help a lot with my a6400. So overall i think it's a much better lens in my opinion. But if you're hesitating, you can rent it for a day and try it. I think it can help you to decide. Hi! Yes its one preset from my lightroom preset pack, exepct th black and white ones. It is available on my website. But keep in mind that the preset only make a good starting point and i adjust a lot of things here and there to make the pictures pop. For example, here is my workflow in Lightroom: select the pictures, try to make the correct composition by framing, apply the preset, adjust the colors if it needed, make a lot of masks to make my subject pop more and shaping the light, adding some extra light leaks or flares to make it more intresting, and last sometimes i play with dehancer plugin to achieve analog filmic look(i didnt use in this video). So my presets can make your images pop already, but to achieve that extra flavour, you have to make a lot of small adjustment. I will make a free lightroom tutorial where i will show my whole workflow. Have a nice day.

Hi! If i were you, i would go for the tamron 17-70. The f2.8 looks really nice and blurry at 70mm. Also 17-70 is really versatile and you dont need to switch lenses during the action. Its a great all arounder. The sony 18-105 id a great lens also, but the tamron is better in a lot of cases. The sigma 56mm is also really good but the question is that: do you really need 1.4? If no, i would go for the tamron.

Would the lens work well with the 17iv?

Yes, it works in APSC mode. 4k 60p with the a7IV is only available in apsc mode, so if you shoot a lot in 4k 60, it can be good. But kee in mind that you will lose some resolution if you use apsc mode.

Pls do it with the same lens but with zv-e10

Köszi a videót! Ugyanez a felszerelésem (a6400 és 18-105) de valahogy az én képeim nem ilyen szépek, élesek, bár én ritkán készítek még RAW-ban fotókat és inkább elektronikus zárat használok. Lehet, hogy ez a baj? :) Ezeket Te mindig RAW-ban készíted mechanikus zárral?

Én köszönöm, hogy megnézted! 🙏 Én csak RAW-ban fotózok, mert sokkal nagyobb rugalmasságod van utómunkánál. Egy RAW képből olyan helyekről is vissza tudsz hozni információt, ami szabad szemmel akár nem látható. Valamint a színeket is sokkal jobban tudod manipulálni. Az elektronikus zárat én csak Timelapse-nál használom (de ott mindig). Viszont, ha valami gyorsan mozog a kamerád előtt, vagy nem elég stabil a kezed, akkor kemény torzulásokat tud okozni a képen (főleg 105mm-nél), valamint beltéren a lámpák miatt rendszeresen összecsíkozza nekem a képet, ami után használhatatlan lesz. Szóval én mindig javaslom, hogy RAW-ban fotózz. A képek élessége utómunkától tűnik élesebbnek, ha jól tudsz kontrasztolni egyes helyeken, akkor élesebbnek tűnik a kép. Köszi a kérdést :)

I use the original sony battery, but i have some third party batteries too. Not bad, but i dont recommend it. The one original battery last that long like 2 from the third party. And it can be dangerous too. Once one of my third party battery start to grow on the sides and i almost cant remove from the camera. So i know that the original batteries are pretty expensive, but i highly recommend to buy the original one. (NP-FW50 for a6400)
