Grandpa raced the boards 100 years ago in the New York city area, he told stories about the murder drome in Newark which he said opened and closed in a season? and his favorite track in Brooklyn which he claimed was over 2 miles in length, thank you and Billy Lane and all the people doing this, it gives life to stories he told 60 years ago

oh man I would LOVE to have seen (and possibly murdered as a spectator in) one of these races. 😍 This shit would have been so much crazier on rickety boards

The murder drome killed 6 ppl in one single crash and decapitated a child who had his head through the railing or something and when the bike ride the wall that was it and one rider was mangled so bad unrecognizable with splinters impaling the drivers size of bayonets and I think a spectator also got speared.

Friggin' epic race! These guys really have to work to keep these bikes running, never mind getting beat to a pulp with no suspension, and running a winning race! This is real motorcycle racing.😁👍👍🏍🏍

No brakes, clutches no transmission, no fenders. The absence of a rear fender scares me most, you could get an instantaneous, unwanted sex change if you fell backward.

Bout the only thing even remotely similar are the motorized bicycle kits they sell now. Much different motors however but pretty much the same suspension... none. Can you imagine how exciting it was to be at the races back in the early days, like 1910-15 range. Not only did you not know if your favorite rider was going to be injured or killed, he might even drive into the Wall and kill several spectators. I watched a guy assemble a board track motorcycle here on KZread, it was probably the most beautiful machine I have ever seen. No cables, no frills, big vtwin big tank and big balls on the rider. This is classic awesome.

beautiful.... In the 70's and 80's my flatrack scooters had no brakes as well. the shoe, the gearbox, if you could downshift, and scrubbing off speed by zig zagging. were the way to try and slow down... would love to race or run one of these fine machines today.. a work of art...
