A couple of times there was a question in the UGC-NET examination regarding a literary movement, "Sons of Ben." Usually what happens is that they give the four options and ask: which writer is not associated with the literary group Sons of Ben? Two to three times, the question has been asked in the previous year's UGC-NET and many times in SET Exam. So in this video, we will look at this particular group of "Sons of Ben" and try to cover every point which is important from a competitive exam perspective.

This was something new for me. I did a bit of research on Sons of Ben - Jonson and his followers frequented London taverns, particularly the Apollo Room of the Devil Tavern near Temple-Bar. Jonson put a marble slab etched with his Leges Conviviales, or 'Rules of Conviviality,' above the mantelpiece in this room. Jonson's rules were modelled after Horace and Martial and written in Latin. The translations were reprinted over the next century.
