Is the ANC strength comparable to Sony xm5s or Bose qc ultra?

For the "True Cinema" Spatial Audio, you need the Sonos Arc Soundbar to deliver the dolby atmos signal to the Ace. It will not work only with an AppleTV over bluetooth. This is really a bummer, since I don't want to buy the Arc Soundbar only for having a very expensive device to deliver the atmos signal to my headphones. Especially because the AirPods Pro or AirPods Max will get the 3D Spatial Audio signal with Dolby Atmos directly from the AppleTV, without having a third device in the middle. But if you are not in the Apple cosmos, don't have an Apple TV, the combination Arc + Ace could be really interesting for watching movies in the night, when Kids and Wife are sleeping. But it is something which AppleTV delivers since years.

I have this buds for over a year (T90s). The battery already drains fast. If you’re looking for dolby atmos, you’ll be disappointed with T90s, first the sound is not that great like spatial audio. Second you can’t turn off head tracking.

@@jakemixd no you don't. They were only released on 21st May 2024. There are different T90 models that were released previously in 2021/2022. The T90S is the newest model which was only released this month.

How is the ANC in comparison to the Bose ultra quite comfort?

Can you compare these to Audeze Maxwells, and Sony flagships?

Does it have to be a Sonos sound bar to use these features

I really hope the part about the Bass is not true, I was going to get these over the Airpods Max. Also its a shame the spatial audio wont work when just connected to bluetooh as my plan was to connect to my Apple Tv.

Interesting offering from Sonos, certainly something new to the market, away from the Bose and Sony's. Currently have Bose QC Ultra and don't see myself moving away from it. From what I can tell, the Ace don't foldaway when in a case and that is a deal breaker for me, however wouldn't mind try them on when demo units are available in NZ. It's also available for pre order in NZ but at NZ$800, hard pill to swallow, when I spent just over NZ$600 for the QC Ultra.

I will get this one if the bass can be set to be kicking! Please do a comparison with Sennheiser Momentum 4 🙏

Give yourself another month or two for all the hype to settle down first before giving them a serious thought of purchasing Sonos Ace.

Can anc be turned off completely? It makes me feel sick.

Got a Px8, will preorder the Sonos Ace just to have a comparison, but mainly for the soundbar feature.

Did I hear you right? Sony XM5 has best transparency? I must have horrible hearing cause I have both the Sony XM5(wifeys) & Air Pod Max and it must depend on what phone you are connected(she has android I have iPhone)to cause my Air pod max as superior transparency then when I use the XM5

The number one thing that makes me hate the Sony and Bose headphones I've used is the software and controls. For some reason, reviewers don't cover that properly.

I hope they connect to WiFi?

For me, the Sony XM5's transparency mode isn't that great. It can't compare to Bose or Apple's offerings. You mentioned that the Sonos Ace performs equal to Sony, which means it's below Bose and Apple level?

APM transparency is superior, XM5 and Bose transparency quality are similar for me. Will have to confirm that in a proper review.

Hi what do you mean blank videos? If you joined as a member you'll have access to the call quality and noise canceling samples. These are audio files not videos. Sound quality samples are in the usual video playlist and are playing as normal.

Thank you for this review. Just by hearing the name I knew it was going to be expensive. I cannot justify spending this type of $ when there are so many affordable good quality headphones.

Rather a shorter battery life and ecosystem integration, was looking forward to ordering but without that they are a big no for me sadly.

Sonos always had some catch to their feature like requiring another expensive equipment to pair together 🤧

I have to disagree with your opinion on the WH-1000XM5 having the best transparency mode in the market. I've tested it and thought it sounded bad. For me, the Airpods Max still hold the crown when it comes to transparency mode, and I sincerely hope the Sonos Ace is comparable to that instead of the WH-1000XM5.

I won't be buying any more Sonos products until they get the awful Sonos app sorted.

Better apple design this is what the Airpods max should have been .. not the overly heavy one they made that strains the neck and jaw after like 1 hrs of listening session

What, do you think Samsung, Bose, Klipsch are going to just suddenly start transmitting surround sound to Sonos headphones? These are Bluetooth headphones. You want sound from the TV? Without Sonos soundbar you can’t use TrueCinema, 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos spatial audio and head tracking. So yes, you can’t use all the features unless you have a Sonos soundbar.

Too bad they nerfed the app for existing customers. Truly appalling.

Are they made out of plastic? It’s a bummer to be honest, I thought it’s a good alternative to the Max but plastic + features can’t be used without other Sonos devices and the not very low price. I think I’ll just go with Max.

I have got Sonos Beam and ability to switch from soundbar to headphones is very strong incentive for the reasons Aaron mentioned.

Nice review - my take is without WiFi these are hot garbage. SonyXM5 & Apple AirPod max are just better - enable WiFi and full app support to play my turntable or FLAC library and I’m ordering.

So it copied the AirPods Max design and the usual sales price… interesting 🤔

It’s not that expensive for high quality headphones. All comparable good ones are in the same price range (Px8 for example).

All these impressions of the specs, from you and everyone else, are a bit irrelevant, I realise you have a channel to maintain.... and I get sucked in every time, and you actually said "not a review" but that does not come up on a truncated phone listing! Doh!

Bose copied 1000% by Apple, Sony and Sonos in every possible way related to audio...
