2024 and I’m in awe of how I still remember every lyric, dance steps and the costumes. Was so much fun rehearsing and recording this piece with the great legend himself. I’m not sure anyone will be able to spot which backup girl I was in the video 👩

In those days I used to sit in front of our black and white television watching this song. This man sings what is happening How I wish my generation will learn to sing like Sunny Okosun. God bless your soul Sunny Okusun.

I remember I used to crush on the backup girls in this video. All the kids performed extraordinarily. My older brother and I used to be so motivated by them. I pursued a career in music and I pray to be as influential as the great Sonny Okosun 🙏🏾

Would you believe that in this late twenty-first century I realize a feeling of missing a great maestro even more than ever, in the person of the Late Sonny Ok. as I commonly regard him. That man was iconic in his style.

I did not know this great maestro has passed on to the great beyond. Listening to his music as I have often done, I never knew he was physically gone. I remember him as a boy, and always comparing him to another maestro, Sir Victor Uwaifo. Yes, he will be missed by those who appreciate his message-packed music. This man impacted the world with his music. Like Mariam Makeba, he fought political injustices and neocolonialism in Africa. He was a hero and still is, even in death. RIP great one!!!
