The “apple core, Baltimore. Who’s your friend” thing is from an episode of the cartoon Johnny Bravo, where he crossed over with Scooby Doo for an episode. I saw it several times as a kid and it just lives free in my brain as a random bit of trivia I never thought id use. It’s not even a great joke in the show it came from, so of course Chris found it hilarious.

(Also the Apple core Baltimore is a children’s game, it was referenced in a cross over of scooby doo and Johnny bravo and a Chip n’ dale cartoon. Basically the whole game is who ever has an apple core asks one of the players who they should throw the apple core at after reciting the rhyme.)

Wes Li is also a person Chris knew in real life (I think?) he’s a magician and actually went on to make a career of it I believe. I think that’s what the rabbit comment was referring to, but you wouldn’t know that if you didn’t know Chris or his friends soooo XD

8:28 That's what happens when Chris' real life and his comics don't stay consistent Issue 2 was Chris, Sarah, and Wes gaining super powers and supposed to be working together to defeat Mary and Count Graduon But between issue 2-5, Sarah found a new boyfriend turned husband but Chris held a grudge against Wes despite Sarah and Wes were only HS sweethearts and writes Wes as jealous while Chris is mature. Because Chris turned his attention to Megan and started copying her interest during the completion of issue 4's last sub episodes. During 2014-2018, Chris started copying Megan's interest in anime, such as Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh as well him learning about Pretty Cure in 2004. But issue 5, Wes stil evil, Sarah reduced to a damsel and the role of sweet heart was replaced by his sister (foreshadowing), and Megan during issue 5 and 6 In short of this information dump -Chris proving the comic steering more from Sonichu and more his real life issues -makes everything in Issue 2 non important as Chris breaks his own rules - Magagi will have the worst character decay

The thing Chris-Chan is trying reference with his “sister” is part of a long running Japanese Magical girl anime called Futari Wa Precure, meaning “We are Pretty Cure”. I know this cause I’ve got a hyper fixation on said series.

Funny how he brings up his mall CADD design like its something to be proud of. I think it’s unironically reflective of the degradation of public spaces under capitalism and a car-centric society. Chris would be in the town square or the greek forums in other times, but in present America malls are truly the only social spaces left.

It's no sequitur after another. Chris is a fan of Family Guy, so I think his writing style got influenced by the clip scenes? Except instead of a clip it's just words? There's also the possibility that these were all obscure references that someone back then would get. It's also like it's written for a niche of socially awkward people whose lives revolve around Pokemon, My Little Pony, Yu-Gi-Oh (thanks for knowing how to write this word, cellphone), and *especially* Sonic (oh, and trains. Can't forget trains).

I keep commenting oof I can't get over being aware CADD Chef is based on a teacher that gave him an F on his CADD art project(CHRIS USE A RULER NOT YOU'RE HAND). The guy was black & the only person he knew was black was Chef so for some reason this happened. Also Chris don't draw an upskirt shot of your friend. Not even having Rosachu mention it didn't happen will help you. There's a reason you had to make an edited page but that's just as bad cause it implies Megan would have killed herself if something had happened.

okay this is gonna sound really stupid but it just hit me that the radio station in the comic is using the wrong starting letter as part of its call sign. so cwcville is supposed to be in virginia, right? since it's to the east of the mississippi river, the station's call sign (aka those 4 sometimes seemingly random letters that a local tv or radio station will announce or show about every hour or so) should start with a w. but instead it starts with a k, which is normally the call sign for stations to the west of the mississippi. while there are some stations that are exceptions to this rule, those stations were started before the 1928 regulations that made stations use w or k depending on what side of the mississippi they were on were put into effect. iirc, there's no way this station would be old enough to count as an exception since the town was apparently founded sometime in the 80's. a dumb ramble? probably but hey, now you know a little bit about call signs.

Oh god, I actually have a "being hit on at the supermarket" story!! (Sorry if this is long!!) Okay, so I had just finished my shift at my retail place. (Unpaid voluntary work) So I popped into a supermarket next door literally to just grab dinner before I caught the bus home. He hands me his phone, telling me to hold it. Confused, I do so. I stand there holding this random dudes phone, until he asks me for my number. I try to give him a fake number, but he takes his phone out of my hand and calls it in front of me?! Also he was making gestures as if to say "f you" to someone behind me. It was so weird and out of nowhere. I ended up making some excuse and booked the hell out of there. To this day, I still have no idea what he thought I would think?? Like, hello? I'm not Mila Kunis, and secondl, I'm the shy weird nerd chick who's straight edge af, why would I go out with discount Lil Wayne??

Chris butchering the rules yugioh is painful. Bare with me I’m about to 🤓🤓🤓 “ummm achtully” real quick. Creature swap REQUIRES both players to have a monster to swap to begin with, and it requires the swap to actually happen, within this context only Wes isli has a monster on his side of the field, therefor creature swap cannot be activated. But Lh, I hear literally no one cry, as I’m the only one bothered by this at all, technically Chris and Wes isli are monsters, they got effects and everything! Very estate literally nobody, but this just means Wes isli automatically will target Chris as the monster he takes control over, (remember the effect is mandatory you can’t opt out of it) so Chris should just teleport to Wes in this exchange and then Wes can just… steal bride chick back… what I’m trying to say is Chris is bad at yugioh and doesn’t know how cards work.
