1. watch people play 2. go to practice mode and test your character out 3a. Build your muscle memory in practice mode for the character you've chosen 3b. or go online and build experience that way Not as complicated as it sounds, all you really have to do is just play the game. With time you will get better. Fighting game experience is transferable between games as they all share the same concepts/philosophy of a fighting game. The only thing that is different is the system mechanics and combo system. it doesn't have to be SonicFox though, there are plenty of FG content creators out there that make really great guides to learning fighting games.

It’s mostly memorization of move sets and frame data. Once you have that down you can get into mind games and predictions

I would have really loved if they had implemented more aspects of his lightning/thunder magic in his move set T-T
