I hope the Shadow Campaign has a lot of meat on it. I’m really hoping for at least an hour or 2 if content but more is gladly appreciated, Gens is already a short game so it’d be a good idea to remedy that by adding tons more content.

Sega Confirmed that its gonna be 2 to 3 hours long for the shadow content

Everyday I thank God Sega has realized that modern Sonic needs to be COOL!

Here’s what I’m hoping. Base game: Gets some quality of life updates, skins like a race suit for both Sonics and SOAP Shoes, a revamp on the time eater boss, and quality of life changes. Maybe some new levels based on lost world, mania, forces, and frontiers. Shadow Generations: I’m hoping we get 3 levels minimum (praying we get 6 levels and 3 bosses). Maybe since we see shadow has chaos spear he could have skill customizations like modern and classic sonic. Post Launch: If the game does well i’m hoping we can get some dlc with the 3DS exclusive stages ported over as well as new content like levels and skins. Maybe have Metal Sonic and Silver playable in some mini episodes

Know it's unlikely, but it would be awesome to see a level from Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush and even the storybook games (know they're mixed with people, but it'd be interesting if done right). It would be awesome to see a 3D version of Studiopolis come to life. As for Shadow, an awesome boss fight would be Mephiles (besides Black Doom and The Biolizard, he would fit really well).

Sonic Team is legit taking the success of Frontiers and aiming to go higher with the new Shadow campaign. The graphics, moveset, and skills have me so excited for this remaster! Also, Shadow kicking that projectile reminds me of Super Sonic parrying the missiles in the WYVERN fight .

The fact that there is a chance to see Mephiles again along with Black Doom is crazy, would love if we get to play out that one sequence in the final cutscene of his campaign in 06 were shadow takes off his inhibitors and starts mowing through all those Mephiles clones as a boss.

After spending a good day stewing on the reveal trailer, I just have two things to say: 1. I am so happy we get to play a shadow after almost 7 years of nothing🤩 2. As far as predictions go for me, Fadel, I'm hoping Sega and Sonic Team can add even more music to listen to and more museum content to Sonic X Shadow Generations, especially since we left Sonic Frontiers with the whole "Sage lives" ending. It would be nice to listen to music from the newest Sonic games, NOT JUST the old ones from the OG Generations. Museum would be going nuts by the time the game comes out in Autumn. As for new and fresh levels, I have no predictions for those as of yet, but we'll stay tuned for more from the official Sonic KZread channel.

which he did already in 2022 from by stealing the spotlight from what suppose to be (Tails due to his birthday and large presence)Sonic movie 2 alone, redeem in base sonic frontiers alongside other four main characters being(Sonic, Tails, Amy, even Eggman), and large presence in both prime(capt. dread is being more flesh out and part of highlight for a kids sonic show on netflix, with knucks from new yolk being second justice especially during season 3 during the final battle against tails Nine, and origins at least@@Starrmonster02

No levels from Lost World, Forces and Frontiers 10000000%. Remember, this is essentially a retelling of/expansion to the original Sonic Generations, which means those 3 games haven't happened yet. You could say time exists infinitely across the continuum or whatever sci-fi gobbly glob so the Time Eater can create rifts to future events but I find that unlikely, not to mention it would, for me, kinda lessen the impact of those events afterwards. Hoping for spin-off levels like Sand Oasis from Secret Rings, Water Palace from Rush, Botanic Base from Knuckles' Chaotix etc is a much more appealing concept than reused mainline levels in my opinion.

I love so much how SEGA is embracing their “shameful” past and fixing it instead of burying it. Shadow 05 and Sonic 06 may have been problematic games, but they had good ideas that shouldn’t be abandoned. With Shadow Gens I’m excited to see how Sonic Team will fix Shadow 05 and tell his story the right way, and hopefully include his story from Sonic 06 which is also amazing.

I remember hearing rumours back in the day that Big the Cat and Omega were meant to be in he original game but were scrapped for time. Maybe they might remake some of the levels from the 3DS and port them to console to add them back in? Maybe Robotnik might also get his teaching degree and we get a playable Sonic Schoolhouse 2?

Shadow having chaos control attacks, black doom, and the biolizard, new levels, lots of hype. Just hope it plays well, I imagine like forces they just used shadows model from that game, and yeah the gameplay is more frontiers like. Hope it’s s decent length campaign, like over an hour and they do get to fix stuff about shadow with how they have handled his character in previous games and idk. Wonder what the bonus content will be for the main generation game and if they will have slight updates to it, I would hope for new levels for that too but eh.. who knows. 💙❤️

Considering how Shadow The Hedgehog was my first sonic game I've played. I've never been more hyped to play the game higher than other sonic games.

As I'm really loving sonic generation back in 2011, I'm really excited for the ultimate sonic generation experience featuring a brand new story focusing on shadow the hedgehog.

They could and should add Shadow to Frontiers as like a $5 DLC pack, with his play style from Generations Also, this game will end up having 5 whole ass gameplay styles: Sonic 1, Classic Sonic, Modern Sonic, Shadow, and of course pinball

I really hope the Generation remaster will have more variety in levels like from Sonic Advance trilogy, Sonic CD or even Rush! I'm Fu**ing excited for this game! ❤

That trailer got me so pumped dude, Shadow's freakin back! Love to see him actually using Chaos Spear and Chaos Control in the brief gameplay we saw, it's too rare that we see Shadow not just be a Sonic clone aside from Sonic 06 and technically Shadow 05. It's great that Sonic Team is using this as an opportunity to clear up Shadow's story and characterization coming into Sonic Movie 3, and are not afraid to call back to the Black Arms and such. I'm hoping that the Shadow content will be significant enough, I don't want an Episode Shadow situation from Forces where it's just 3 short levels. I wonder if they'll pull from any Heroes or 06 stages and bosses for this type of thing. On the Gens remaster side, I'd be fine if it was largely unchanged as it was already a great game on its own and I like that more people will have access to it, but it would be a great selling point to have some kind of bonus content in the form of stages, characters, a cooler reworked final boss, etc

WE NEED MORE SHADOW

God im fucking pumped for this remaster. I was on cloud 9 when i saw the trailer the other night. Im glad to see Shadow actually using his chaos powers and not being a clone of sonic. Also for this remaster i hope we get an actual good multiplayer mode like the multiplayer in sa2 and heroes. Im also praying we get more than 4 stages and dont get the "episode shadow" treatment like in forces. Im hoping for a solid 6 to 8 stages and shadow having interactions with other characters in the story, at the least rouge and omega. I also think having space gadget or a version of cosmic fall that isnt cancer would be great too. Super shadow would be god tier also. And to round out this long post i highly recommend playing project 06 if you enjoy shadow having advanced combat, this creator single handedly fixed his broken mechanics and made his gameplay loop fucking great. Great vid and 2024 is starting out great!!!

Havoc engine isn’t to do with the player controller or graphics or anything, havoc is like physics objects like boxes and jars bullet would easily be able to be a substitute for that but sonic himself is sonic teams own code

I actually just started to wonder; what if Black Doom's new voice actor is the same person who's been hired to voice Shadow in Sonic 3?? That could perhaps be another cool way to promote the movie & game side by side, as well as show off the actor's range too; as well as of course the connection of Shadow & Doom being related & such, reminiscent of Eggman & Gerald always sharing a VA too!!

The most hype part is how flashy they made Shadow's animations. Kicking a giant missile in slow motion? Punching the shit outta the Biolizard? They're making this game extremely cinematic and I couldn't be happier. His new model looks great too. Excited to see them apply the lessons they learned in Frontiers in a more traditional Sonic setting, especially level design wise. Like Frontiers base game had some hit or miss levels, but the DLC was banger after banger. They KNOW what we want in a level now.

Just dumping a few of my ideas/hopes for this game here; Spindash skill for Modern Sonic as Classic has the homing attack skill. Maybe an option to play as Modern Sonic in some of Shadow's levels, and vise versa. DLC skins maybe, like an SA1 styled skin for Modern Sonic and SOAP shoes, American styled quills for Classic Sonic.

My guess is that we'll most likely get more information during a Nintendo Direct or Sonic Central. But MAN I CAN'T WAIT I WANT MOORREEEEE

New fans get to know about Shadow and will be even more excited when he premieres in the movie. More companies need to cross promote better like this. Imagine if the Mario RPG remake came out before the Mario Movie…

one thing I really hope. is since this is STILL Sonic Generations. I hope the shadow story stuff looks like it presentation wise. Like I know that the gameplay is already going to be completely different than generations. With characters talking and black doom being the main bady. and the boss fights being changed etc. But I really hope the hub world still looks similar to the gens one, the ui, etc. It would feel a bit off to switch between the 2 stories and they just feel like completely different games

To me the most exciting part for the remaster is the availability to play gens on switch, ik it’ll probably have a visual downgrade to run on the switch but still my favorite game on the go is raw. The shadow stuff is hype to say the least, the animations and visuals are on a new level I hope the best for the level design and physics in this campaign. It would also be cool to see more villains or characters shadow knows from the past, like Maria, Gerald, the Gun commander, seeing the actual black doom since we have only dooms eye, heck maybe even Mephiles with maybe flashbacks to 06 with shadow remembering 06. There’s a lot of potential with this remaster and addition can’t wait to see more.

Nothing's going to stop me from trying to get this game when it gets released! I've never played the original Generations game before, so this won't be a repeat for me if any of the parts that were in the original game's story for Modern and Classic Sonic aren't changed. Shadow being added in makes it seem like it will be extra cool and I can't wait to find out what the parts of it that haven't been already shown in this announcement trailer will be designed like with these modern graphics! I'll be getting the Switch version of it because I only own that one of the consoles that they are saying that this game is going to be available on, and I haven't gotten into online gaming yet either, so I'm not set up to try to play it on Steam.

The pod thing shadows kicking looks like the thingy he’s in in the sonic 2 post credits scene, maybe they retconned how the escape pod looked?

This may sound unlikely, but perhaps the new possible content could have something like a “Final Story” campaign once you complete both Sonic and Shadow’s story??? Something obviously similar to SA2?

I think it would be cooler if instead of having a Super Shadow boss fight we got a fight as what I'm calling Uninhibited Shadow (Shadow without his inhibitor rings) He only took 2 off in a cutscene in 06, the one where he says "If the world chooses to become my enemy, I'll fight like I always have!" Imagine what it would be like if he had to take all 4 off. Also it would make more sense story wise because it's been confirmed that the Shadow campaign is going to run parallel (at the same time) to the main Generations story. On another note I'm really exited to see what songs they're gonna remix from the Shadow game. Love the remixes from Episode Shadow in Forces.

I keep seeing people talk about the havok engine thinking it is a game engine, it is not. It is a physics engine. So when you are talking about how the graphics are 1 to 1 and bringing up the havok engine, those 2 things are actually not related.

YEAAAA THE ERA OF SHADOW HAS ARRIVED! Loved this in-depth analysis of Sonic x Shadow Generations man, you really brought out Detective Fadel hahaha! Already a fan of how combat-oriented he looks, since I associate Shadow more with high-speed battle tactics even moreso than Sonic. With Sonic Team reintroducing multiple playable characters with their own skillsets thanks to Frontiers, I have faith that Shadow is going to control greatly. The cinematic bosses, the new abilities, beautiful stages, GRAAAAH I'M READY!!

might be talking out of my ass here but i think the reason why we didnt see much in base gens might be because they were going with the fakeout route with the clips progressing up to the cgi bit? whether thats true or not, i think we'll definitely see more as the year goes by; this is just a reveal trailer after all additionally, some of the ideas behind shadow's campaign here is very reminiscent of a couple concepts that were explored in shadow 05, particularly with the idea of revisiting events from the past and looking into who shadow is as a character... just without the amnesia and 2000s cheesy edge lol. this isnt a jab though, im really interested in seeing how ian will go about this kind of story! perhaps it could also be an open opportunity to patch up or clarify some things from that spinoff! either way this is SHADOWS YEAR RAAAHHHH WE'RE IN FOR PEAK 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯

Here’s my idea and it may go either way but, the Shadow Campaign may take place in between the Sonic Generations story, after Sonic defeats Shadow in the boss fight in Gens, and the Time White Space grows and restores it also unlocks something specifically for Shadow, Shadow’s past (this may be an idea of Shadow having exclusively able to bypass the friend’s freezing thing just like how “plot reasons” he avoided being shattered in Prime, it unlocks Black Doom through Sonic’s memory, Sonic is present in Shadow the Hedgehog game but it wouldn’t feel right if Sonic had to fight a villain meant for Shadow so, for game story reasons they leave this out of base Generations but leave it for this remaster where Black Doom will be toying with Shadow now that he has a form of freedom through Time Eater, Black Doom doing the same as Time Eater having forcing Sonic through different parts of his history but instead in more of a Dr Strange way, while going through the game and going through Shadow’s History, similar to Frontiers with Ian Flynn in the script I feel as though they will (not retcon) but alter and add a bit more of lore to the Sonic universe through Shadow’s backstory/retelling in Generations (similar to how we discovered the Emeralds were from space and brought to Earth by the Ancients) possibly changing what we thought we knew about Shadow especially considering his usage of the Emeralds is more special and SEGA mentioned he’ll be getting new abilities in gameplay, regarding boss battles, well Biolizard will be handled off base form but hopefully Frontier’s combat mechanics (especially since in Gens Sonic was able to handle Perfect Chaos in base showing the character’s development and increase in power), Mephiles of course and without the help of Rouge, Omega or the inhibitor rings, Silver because that is hilarious (doubt it though but copium), Infinite (copium), and to end it off with Super Shadow vs Devil Doom (with Frontier Mechanics), my assumption with these boss fights or maybe just the last one is Devil Doom would have some kind of amp or change through all of this being brought back cause of the Time Eater’s influence, my only question is how will it play since you know the chaos emeralds are needed since this hypothetical takes place in the middle of the Generations story, my second thought is this takes place after but even then how since Sonic restored everything, unless after restoring everything Black Doom was still presently free and looped Shadow in his mess of chaos but then how? My apologies if this is long, I’m just theorizing how they will implement this in the game story wise and game mechanics wise. Anybody is welcomed to discuss too

I never played Sonic GEN PS3 version, only the 3DS one, so i'm excited to play this game now, the Shadow content looks clean as hell. There's a few thing on my wish list from this game, like Mephiles and Infinite being rival boss fight and perhaps having new stage from newers games or Gen 3DS

I feel like the bonus content is going to be new levels based off of the 3DS exclusive levels

Man if they give Shadow a full combat moveset like Sonic Frontiers'...(For bosses) I. WILL. LOSE. MY MIND.

Shadow coming back is just a statement, a TESTAMENT that all those frontiers songs mean business (Running from the past is a losing game) and they really want to bring back the coolness to the series and they're not ashamed of it! My wishlist is like everyone else, hopefully is a meaty campaign with a lot of levels and bosses! This is definitely the year of Shadow and I'm all (of me) for it!

i think its either 2 options. its gonna either be the same length as Gens where its 7-9 zones with multiple boss fights (Copium version) or its gonna be only one generation where its only 3 stages with one boss fight. but I have a feeling it might be the same length as Generations, idk call it a gut feeling

I'm super excited and surprised that we got Generations remaster for all platforms, I can finally actually play the game. I genuinely hope with Shadow as the main focus that SEGA/SonicTeam would remake Shadow the Hedgehog game or at least remake it as one big DLC? to Sonic Adventure 2 remake. To me both Adventure games, Heroes and Shadow should get a remake treatment on all platforms cuz those games are the core of the franchise, of course I want all the Sonic games to get this treatment but again these four to me are a must!

I can't see a mephiles boss fight because solaris was destroyed in the past, present, and future. I mean I'm assuming that means he's gone completely but Sega could always retcon it

They could use Sonic Generations 3DS levels for extra content for sonic. Also the only games they can pull from for Shadow would be Sonic Adventures 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow The Hedgehog, and Sonic 06

I know im late to this, but even thought I know this will all take place before Forces, imagine if Shadow had a boss fight against Infinite or something. With a Frontiers style battle it would definitely be amazing to see

I hope the sonic generations remaster won't be too changed so you can have mods. I hope it gets additonal 2 or 3 levels, characters to play as, just make it more spicy As for Shadow generations, if they're using cyberspace physics, then i pray to god they make it FAST and basically like gens. If they wont do anything it wont be a good game. I wish the game would be atleast longer than gens, that would be really cool. I also hope Ian Flynn finally writes Shadow properly, because if he starts boasting about his "superior hands" like in the idw comics or doing stupid irrational things he wouldn't do at all (also like in idw comics) then i'll instigate a world wide shadow revolution (JOKING OF COURSE) Anyway pretty hyped for this

Aside from the newer games and side games Shadows technically only appeared in 4 mainline games I highly doubt it but unless we get shit like rivals, storybook games, we’d probably only be getting 4-6 levels as him w ofc boss fights
