@@satyamSaha It didn't really fix that, all it did was add 2013 SEGA and the Tap Screen to Start to the title screen, and the menu was replaced with the same text string in the Sonic 2 mobile port's 2013 remake.

We really need to find that 1990 Tokyo Toy Show build of the game, it seems to have been FAR different from the base game and could possibly have some groundbreaking secrets.

my speculation for those brick areas in labyrnith zone is that was planned for open areas without water so Sonic could breathe. they were probably taken out because the devs couldn't figure a way to properly work those sections in with how the water was coded. if i remember right, that's where air bubble locations were ultimately placed

Fun Fact: The unused SEGA logo was later re-used in the mobile ports of Sonic 1, 2, and CD when they were updated to be part of "SEGA Forever"

2:20 I’m now wondering if anyone got stuck on the title screen and demos for hours because the message telling them to press Start didn’t arrive. Especially if they accidentally found the Level Select Code before that.

"in this prototype every time you collect 50 rings you get a 1up. The Devs probably changed it to 100 because they felt that made the game too easy" If that was the motivation. I think that the Devs are wrong. I mean sonic 1 isn't REALLY that brutal with the difficulty. But if you game over you go all the way back to the beginning. I think they should've let that in or at least put a limit to it.

You gotta wonder how people even found this prototype and leaked it.

This prototype is 30 years old and was once owned by a gaming magazine. My theory? First an employee takes the cart home because nobody kept track. Then he dies and his cumsprite discovers it in their inheritance.

Oh god, I have a theory So there's that unused sprite of Sonic "falling" into the background What if that skull thing for the special stage was for that?

Fun fact:The Giant green hill ball remains unused in the Mobile port of Sonic 1 and can be spawned in using the debug mode...but theres a BIG difference in the mobile version:The giant ball actually works as intended and isn't that glitchy. The ball rolls around down slopes and when you stand on it...and it can crush badniks and crush you too! Meaning these was made more dangerous

5:24 you got this part messed up as the prototype layout you are seeing is just objectless, so the moving platforms from in the prototype are there and in the same position as the final game

Scrap Brain Zone Act 3 was originally rumored to be a full level instead of going straight into the "Final Zone" boss, as it looks like you were to climb up the whole thing until you got to Robotnik and fought him in the final battle.
