@@souptaels Although, there's three strikes against this fan remake that I feel holds it back from me enjoying this. 1. While it does establish that the Game Gear version is a completely different game, and that the manual to the Game Gear version states that Sonic and Tails were already friends before Tails was captured, I feel that having it happen RIGHT AFTER Sonic 2 feels disjointed when it should've happened after Sonic 3. This is a similar problem I have with the 16-bit fan remake of Triple Trouble when it says that fan remake takes place right after the Death Egg Saga (despite Triple Trouble being called "Sonic and Tails 2" in Japan, and that Sonic 3 has a side story with Knuckles, which Triple Trouble also included) although not as problematic as what the Game Gear Sonic 2 fan remake will do with the other two strikes. 2. The mechanics that existed in the original Game Gear game felt incomplete. When the Mine Cart in Underground Zone moves, it unfortunately does not connect to the rails they're suppose to move about on; it makes the Mine Carts from Donkey Kong Country feel more realistic; and the Hang Glider that Sonic is suppose to traverse on didn't seem like Sonic was having a good grasp on the physicality of it. Oh yeah, and Sonic's victory animation is not Sonic 2 based, visually speaking. I hate visual inconsistencies. 3. The redone Game Gear Music is very hard to listen to. I know some people like to stick with their own tracks, but my ears are very sensitive to what instrument or note the track plays, and it reminds me of how people hated the Sonic Origins tracks for Sonic 3, compared to the Prototype tracks people found that were way better than what it became.

@@robbiewalker2831 Yeah, those are very much valid criticisms. While for 2 and 3 it's clear what needs to be improved, the first is a bit more tricky. The Sonic timeline is basically a hot mess, and everyone has a different opinion about where the 8-bit games go. Heck, a few years ago we couldn't even agree on where Sonic CD goes in the timeline. Hypothetically speaking, do you think that making the prologue (Emerald Hill included) optional would solve this issue for you.

Conozco al creador del fan game y debo decir algo, para lo que ofrece este proyecto, el chico ha progresado considerablemente y ha mejorado, aunque hay cosas que podrían mejorarse de este proyecto, sinceramente yo no hubiera agregado el emerald hill vacío, digo, ya es una zona que recorrió Sonic pero... ¿qué necesidad? ni siquiera como tutorial se siente divertido porque literal es el puro layout sin objetos ni enemigos, podría funcionar mejor si tuviera estos pero cadecería de sentido, por otro lado las mecánicas que recrea del juego que se inspira están ahí, si, pero... podrían pulirse, en especial el planeador de sky high zone, se siente súper básico el movimiento que tiene, el creador aún puede mejorar más de lo que ya ha mejorado, pero tiene que saber qué feedback le conviene mejor para su proyecto.

Concuerdo, el juego se ve muy prometedor, y más para re-adaptar al Sonic 2 de 8 bits, aunque, hay muchas cosas que podría mejorar; como el apartado del spritework (con animaciones como las de resorte, la pose de victoria, etc.)(y con otros objetos, escenarios) La resolución (estaría mejor en 16:9) o algo más simple como los loops musicales

Ehh not the most polished thing in the world, but it's serviceable enough. The cutscenes suffer from stiffness and pacing issues. Some sprite animations play a bit too fast, like the hang gliding animation for instance. I do like the added story bits, tho there could've been more. Eggman captures Tails and then...? And now we're in Underground Zone. Also, why is Emerald Hill Zone so empty? The minecarts also shouldn't be bouncing off downward slopes. Overall, has potential, but could use some more work, especially in the visual department

True. The game it's remaking I see as set before the 16-bit Sonic 2 (since it did not have the spin dash and only six emeralds like both versions of Sonic 1), so whoever is making this fan game may be taking some liberties of their own (maybe this will have the seventh emerald allowing Super Sonic).
