It's good to see Fang is back after many years! Evan Stanley, Tyson Heese, Ian Flynn, and everyone else including the Powerhouse Animation team did an awesome job making this stunning animation.

I think the reason Trip was feeling bad for the snake was because she cares about nature and its creatures as we can see how fascinated she was by the flowers she saw and was depressed after eggman crushed them which gets me to believe that she's not truly evil i wonder if she will have some sort of redemption arc in the game where she becomes good in the end

Also around the mural showing people like trip the red snake is circling them. Maybe that snake has some personal connection to her people? Also trip is a sungazer lizard, also known as a dragon lizard, wonder if that has any connection to the dragon in the centre.

As much as I miss the simpler days of Let’s Plays, I vote that you should livestream Superstars when it releases. Interacting with the chat just makes everything more entertaining and engaging. And LP’s can take weeks to upload, while a livestream of the entire game is readily available after recording.

Fang put it in wrong on purpose because he remembered tails doing that and it doing something; so that beginning section probably wasn't a dream. Idk why he thought putting it in wrong was the best course of action, but it worked, I guess.

Sonic origins never had a animation short leading up to it but I do agree they should put these in the game they’ll tied to. Also ironically the mania plus shorts were in origins. Aside from that this short was great and it was about ‘time for a change of pace’ to put the spotlight on the villains.

So Fang’s dream wasn’t only a dream. It was an actual fight that happened (hence why Fang knew how to put that one power device wrong inside of his vehicle). I believe the implication is supposed to be after he got knocked the heck out by Amy, Fang still has nightmares about the encounter.

I think it was confirmed Trip is an armored lizard. I'm willing to bet all that armor is to protect her from her clumsiness. 🤔🤔

The animation never disappoints me, the Sonic team have done it again! When I look back at the previous animations from Sonic Mania Adventures to the latest one we've seen today, it's truly remarkable to see a masterpiece that wows the Sonic audiences. The manuscripts on the wall does interest me because it has a connection to the Chaos Emeralds as they hold a variety of powers. I can't wait to see what the game has in store for us. Lastly for me, I think I'd stick to streaming playthroughs the way you normally do Sam, just a simple suggestion.

Sam, the mural shows all of the emerald powers. The center is a dragon which some people are saying will be trip since she’s a Sun Lizard, also known as the giant dragon lizard. May be the final boss. 🤷🏾‍♂️ only time will tell

Trip being the final boss actually makes a lot of sense as a fake out. The irony of us seeing her as an innocent clutz only for her to actually be some ancient creature of destruction works perfectly. Also, we’ve seen innocent creatures become destructive being when powered by the emeralds. Perfect Chaos started out as one of the Ancients, who mutated into Chaos 0, and became Perfect Chaos with the 7 emeralds. Trip being the same case only makes sense. This would also mean that the dragon is technically “Super Trip” or “Perfect Trip.”

To me, this looks like it's the next chapter of the Chaos Emeralds after the Ancients went extinct. I feel whoever is in the mural is what came after they were gone.

If they are gonna show what trip looks like I kinda hope she is some short of armored lizard. Maybe that moment of sympathy for her fellow reptile is a clue.

she is an armored lizard, it's confirmed by Takashi Iizuka, Iizuka also said that's the reason why Trip wears an armor, to make a joke with her species name I also think that she is a nature lover, that's why she sympathized with the snake, and also got sad when Eggman stepped on the flowers

I love that Sega gives us these Prologue trailers with Sonic Origins, Sonic Frontiers, and now Sonic Superstars. This was so well animated it would be amazing to get a tv show like this. Also the story looks cool and this gets me even more excited for Sonic Superstars.

IM SO HYPED FOR THIS GAME AND LOVED THE ANIMATED PROLOGUE!

From my personal experienceband understanding, those seven beings of colors (no racism involved) that look like Trip are seen with the chaos emeralds as they appear to be demonstrating each power: blue for duplication, red for enhanced speed, yellow for luminescence/light, cyan for hydrokinesis/water manipulation, green for plant community, purple for decloaking/revealing hidden areas, and white for assumingly enhanced strength or invulnerability. The black center with violet filteration appears to be some kind of dragon-like creature. Finally, surrounding the entire mural is that red and yellow striped snake we saw in this prequel video. Based on my personal analyses of artwork and artists' intentions, I deduct that Trip's kind used the various powers of the emeralds to defeat and seal away this dark and supernatural creature of pure malice. If that's the case, then maybe that snake Fang and Trip survived and tied up to take down was hypothetically meant to be the guardian protecting the area where the mural's secret history is located. If that's so, then the mad scientist doesn't realize what uncontrollable power he may tamper with. Something tells me that that dragon creature might be more dangerous in the games then what we don't know or assume.

Trip is just a new characther, it has been confirmed that she is a lizard, and Sticks was a badger. So no connection to Sticks. Also, i seen some people theorize that being in the center of the mural is related to the Time Eater from Generations, which would be insane....

Lovely animation for sonic superstars. Hope it’s actually in the game. There’s definitely some new lore there, the ruins showing 7 colours and what looks like different abilities, so the chaos emeralds and the different powers they can do. The people on the ruins kinda look like the new character. Real interesting, looking more and more forward to superstars. 💫

Also i noticed the big flicky's around the chaos emerald-powered people too. Like the big penguin got on the bottom right

No Trip is Empathetic for nature.First when she tries to touch the flowers.Eggman smashed the flowers showing his hate and disregard for nature. The when Fang was standing over the defeated snake showing his pride over destroying the creature(even though the snake attacked first). Plus Fang was in his territory. And Eggman was studying the wall. But when the snake was defeated,Eggman practically smiled and laughed menacingly and not caring. Trip slowly puts her hand(also showing she emotions).Empatheticly to the snake's nose.

All of the trip looking things on the mural in the temple have chaos emeralds, and all reflect the abilities in the game.

That being in the center is definitely a dragon.

Trip is starting to be one of my favorite characters, and she will most likely be even better when the full fame releases. And I wouldn't mind if you live streamed the game on day 1. Seeing your reaction live would be amazing and having your community also react along with you would be a blast. Keep it up Sam!

3:32 - 3:34 Heard the first few notes of the Egg Dragoon theme from Sonic Forces. Might be coincidence, though. If it isn't, good! We need more of that song :D Also, looking back at the animation, I get the feeling that Trip might end up joining Sonic (or at least leaving Eggman). That would be a nice twist, as most characters that Eggman joins forces with have either utterly betrayed him (Chaos and Dark Gaia), or have been left in the dust by Eggman (the Zeti and Infinite). Last time we've had a character just leave Eggman would be Knuckles and/or Shadow. So yee, that'd be a nice twist.

One curious detail, the pictograms Eggman is investigating, are Trip people or Trip herself using the chaos emerald new powers, wonder if the figure of the center is entity like iblis etc or monstrous a super form like Perfect Chaos(maybe of Trip herself, as developer said she is powerful contrary to his appearance and clumsy demeanor). And the giant snake appears to be short of a guardian as it appear Im the mural surrounding the Trips

When I first saw the being in the middle of the wall, I thought it may have been The End or, as Jim Carrey in Sonic Movie 2 put it, Darkness itself. It took me a second viewing to notice the demonic Bowser-ish being in the middle. I'm very curious to know what it is. I even wonder if it may have something to do with the creation of the Master Emerald. It really is amazing to see Sega utilizing talent and people with passion for this franchise. Ian Flynn, Tyson Heese, Evan Stanley, and the rest make this franchise shine more than ever and Powerhouse Animation deliver beautiful, and I mean beautiful, animation. I also wish this kind of stuff was in the games besides Origins.

The animation looks so clean always a treat seeing the animations for the games, Tyson Hesse never disappoints. can’t wait to play the game!

Calling it now, trip is somehow related to the weird snake civilization (because she's a reptile and the figures in the murals look a lot like her) shown in the murals, and will help sonic and co at the end of the game because of her ties to the reptiles snake people

I really loved these animations they make before the games come out!! It’s also great to see the team officially expanding upon the lore as well! I can’t wait to see more of Trip because having her character wear so much armor because she is a bit of a klutz is kinda funny, but intriguing to me. As for you’re play-through… I would suggest doing a Livestream if you don’t think you would have the time to record and edit. However, I am one to watch Let’s Plays and VODs more because I never have time to watch a stream when it goes live. I think I’ve only ever watch two or three of yours when you were live at the time. Haha!

So this might be a long shot but looking at the mural, we see trip's tribe using the emerald powers with a dragon (presumably in an egg) in the center, we see that trip is obviously a sweet heart and doesnt really fit in on her team, where as everyone is saying she'll switch sides and be playable (i also think she will be playable) but i think things are gonna be changed up to have a more modern story telling, what i mean is i think after getting all chaos emeralds and reaching the end of the game, i think in the doomsday like level, trip has finally gone over the edge, tired of the bs, and snaps, takes the chaos emeralds and turns into the dragon/ final boss (like i said very far fetched but i wanted to speculate more than just trips tribe knows about the emerald powers and a bit more reason on why eggman keeps her around, it just seems that she'll be more significant than a team swap) even further far fetched, i wonder if eggman learned this from reading geralds notes and that this dragon is the canonical inspiration for the bio lizard, if there is a mural of super sonic fighting the dragon then that would make even more since given gerald made both shadow and bio lizard to be ultimate life form and with sonic team goin deeper into lore more recently, i think i could be a slim possibility, and a round of applause to anyone who actually read my long ass comment lol

I just realized something and hear me out. This theory requires a little bit of pokémon to understand At the end of a lockstin and gnoggin video(refarding cyclizar, koraidon and miraidon) furure lockstin sltalks about an old post somone made back in the early 2010's about an A.I. that takes the form of a basalisk, cursing and punishing those who learn about it because they learned things no mere mortal should learnseeing its pair of menacingred eyes, making the only ways to ever forget about it to either make sure that no one else learns if its existence or creating the A.I into existence yourself, basically what im saying is what if eggman, trip and fang(nack) came across said tale of a powerful being that takes the form as a basalisk (not the giant snake from the animation) and when eggman tried to draw out what he thought was the new entity that were are no doubt going to fight, he brought into existence by turning it into a robot he can control, just like miraidon, the legendary paradox pokemon for pokemon violet, a robotic dragon like thing that has a secondary name called the IRON SERPANT,something that should never be seen by the world and trip by the end of the adventure is trying her best to make sure no one else learns of this monsters existence to prevent it from coming to exist by betraying eggman and most likely being a boss encounter at some point.... but thats just my theory A GAME THEORY!

For Classic Sonic, I kinda don't think its neccessary to have an animated prologue to give details on Superstars story. Not saying i don't want, I think having animated cutscenes for Superstars would be a cool bouns, especially if that prologue was a story introduction for Superstars. Plus it would help show how big Superstars is compared to the previous titles. However if they're just going to stick to what other Classic games have structured for their storytelling (1, 2, CD, 3&Knuxs, & Mania), then it's ok since all the Classic games doesn't tell much of the story in detail and leaves the player have to pic on what's going on for each game. All the writers need to do is to give a short n sweet in game scene of Sonic n gang doing whatever fun action they do, Eggman's bossy relationship with Fang n Tripe, Eggman or Sonic's gang looking at the mural, then pretty much .ost of the players can get the picture of what's happening. Basically like Sonic 3&Knuxs storytelling but maybe the ending have a cool animation scene like Mania but with more movements and doesn't end in a bad future (Forces). Meanwhile Forces n Froniters, Forces desperately needed to tell more of what happened to the Master n Chaos emeralds, what happened to Angel Island, why Silver here, Infinite's backstory, etc. While Froniters, ya that game could given a cutscene of how Knuxs was trained in cyberspace instead of just making a special animation for Knuxs.

*Just a Theory, Not A Fact But Just My Opinion* Long story short I don’t know about you, but these figures on the wall look a lot like trip. So my theory number one is that trip has access to chaos emerald power. It’s not too much of a biggie but I really do see something and this character that sonic team is developing. I don’t know if she or he is good or bad but I feel like they’re gonna play an important role in the game. My second theory was kind of like a mind blown, but It kinda makes sense, Eggman eventually gets the chaos emeralds and uses them on trip, and trip turned into that purple and black dragon that we saw. I know it’s kind of a stretch, but like when you back at the mural, it shows what happens to Tripp when it only uses one emerald so if trip uses all the emotes what happens then? But I could be making speculations 🤷🏿‍♂️😌

If you look at the wall they all resemble the chaos emreleds (7) Iook at the blue trip.

I would like a live stream but just go with what you feel like. Also the 7 robots on the wall ARE the powerups it looks like. The blue one has clones, cyan has water drops, The green one has vines so maybe you can use that to reach higher areas and the purple one is an eye which allows you to see secret platforms! I have no clue what the others are though.

I’ve seen the short, and all I can say is that Superstars is likely gonna be THE game the bridges the Classics to SA1 based on one shot in the video.
