This makes me think of that one album Nintendo licensed where a bunch of musicians sang a bunch of Nintendo inspired song. That’s where we got Ignorance is Bliss by Jellyfish, the one about Bowser singing to Princess Peach.

You're thinking of White Knuckles Scorin', but "Ignorance is Bliss" was the only Nintendo-related track. There are a few weird obscure Nintendo albums though like the Super Mario Land album by Ambassadors of Funk.

So, my dad was really into the electronic scene in the 90s, and from what he's taught me, I can say that a lot of the criticisms against this album can be used against pretty much any trance song or album. That's not to say that the genre is bad; just that it's characterized by repetitive beats that can be a bit too minimal at times. It's one of those genres where there aren't many songs that stand out from the rest. Even shitty lyrics are universal for every electronic song out there, so in all honesty I can't say I personally find this album bad or good. It's a trance album that says "Sonic" a bunch of times.

There's also another Eurodance album involved with Sonic called Super Sonic Dance Attack. It's actually good and doesn't have any silly lyrics. Although it's more of late 80s Euro-pop sounding album and only features 3 songs with one being an extended version of the main song featured. Still a great listen though.

There's also a Eurodance album called "Supersonic" from "H.W.A." with some pretty good vocals. It's based on Green Hill Zone and is an actual banger imo.

this is probably one of my favorite pieces of really obscure sonic stuff and it is kinda a guilty pleasure tbh, especially they call me sonic and king of the ring they are kinda ass but so catchy! I just love this really brief era between 1995 -97 where there were like no sonic games to market so alot of companies just made up their own shit for sonic and released it like this cd. The music video is also trippy and is the only other time the infamous sonic ride video is used officially. Cant wait if your covering more oddities like this

I think "extended" simply means it's the full song. In Euro beat/dance/trance genres the songs are typically listened as part of megamixes where 1-2 minute long segments of various songs are cut and remixed into one non-stop track, standalone versions of the songs are often released in slightly shortened format of about 4 minutes long which is called a "radio edit", and thus "extended" is just the full uncut song.

Never understood the existence of this album. I guess it's pretty inoffensive overall. At least it's not as cursed as the Sonic Dance Power series, which don't even use original songs.

SRB1 and it's remake takes the motif from Sonic Electronic and does it way better. Gald this video exists.

I personally really love this CD, especially track 6 and to be honest the only songs that i find annoying are the Extended Versions of "They Call Me Sonic" and "King Of The Ring".

I actually like the first track, but it's mostly nostalgia talking. Shocked the rest of the CD is so awful.

I think I've heard a King of The Rings remix on a modern sonic game, I've heard it on a gameplay video, It's a zone then suddenly the track played, but remixed but I can only remember it saying King Of The Ring and then I can't remember..
