I always try to go for the Rainbow sparks on that first turn. Though I tend to use Vector or Eggman, so their spark rate is fast enough to get away with it.

@@MystycCheez Yeah, that's what I was saying. With Vec or Egg, if you go in hot on the inside and then cut, they'll be able to just barely make it through the turn, carry it on halfway across the bridge and then pop off the rainbow sparks just in time to do a hard cut to the right to make the shortcut. But then you pretty much have to take the ramp unless you want to get stuck in the dirt.
