I like the aspect of sonic's character where he's willing to convince tails into writing up a friend contract in an effort to push him away, but still respects the contract when tails actually writes it up.

I just realised Jet is a foil for Sonic's character They are both in a difficult relationship with their respective friends, but they cope differently: Sonic acts in a toxic way with his friends, but Jet is much more open-minded and tries to do his best while treating his friends fairly. This makes Sonic's character arc more satisfying and shows that Sonic has no excuse to not change

This rendition of the bird villains makes them seem like mild-mannered assassins with questionable morals but a healthy communication based relationship with each other. I've also decided I love them.

The Babylon Rouges VA’s really stole the show in this fandub. Marble being a speed runner and actually knowing the story gave them more opportunities to pull off unique lines and I honestly think that in itself fit Jet in this dub. It was so in character for Jet to know what he was doing. Red slowly adapting to wave’s role in the first half of the dub and straight up altering the accent and their role in the second half was really impressive. Chase never broke character as storm, their character was perfect. The way they acted out the lines were so exaggeratedly in character for storm. I felt like they had a really good grasp on storm’s character. These three really made the fandub stand out on its own and I hope the next one (If they’re gonna do one) will stand out in its own way with characters like them!

the delivery on knuckles' "You ableist piece of shit, what the fuck are you even good for anyway?" is one of the funniest things in ANY of these dubs ngl

It has taken me two years to realise the orchestral rendition of There Goes Hawaii builds up just like Dancing Mad and honestly it goes harder than it has any right to

I don’t know whether to be ashamed, impressed, or proud of how much of the dialogue in all of the sonic fan dubs I’ve inadvertently memorized. Regardless: on my decade or more on KZread, these are by far my most watched videos. Thank you Penny and everyone else for the work you put in to get these videos out. These fandubs are all comedic masterpieces, but let's appreciate how fucking cool the musical edits are. The intro naming all the voice actors having the perfect font and being animated is really impressive

things to note that are really funny to me: wave spent what appeared to be a weekend in france, but was actually 30 years due to having to solve a problem concerning time dilation jet is cousins with falco lombardi amy went to four years of master's school majoring in abstract thinking, but also did an extra course in the extracurriculars run track team knuckles went to princeton (and graduated in 1907)
