Sonic LAB XAOC Devices Odessa Oscillator module
Ғылым және технология
XAOC Devices Odessa is a variable spectrum harmonic cluster oscillator…. Well what the hell does that actually mean? In its most basic terms it means that Odessa is a harmonic oscillator, it uses a number of sine waves (partials) to create a more complex waveform. It can function in one voice mode, 3 or 5. Each voice has access to 512 partials to create the waveform. So when we are using all five voices we have a total of 2560 partials!!

Without a doubt the best demo/review out there. So clear, concise, and ultimately m u s i c a l.
7:40 Sounds like Skinny Puppy. I love it!
Holy crap... leave it to sonic state to revive my interest in a module I had totally written off due to all of the crappy YT videos showing people twisting knobs with harsh noise and atonal distortion seemingly being the only thing this module was capable of. Great job! Now you just need to do about 20 more videos of modules long neglected due to bad demo videos. hehe
I love that there is a key for what the "Voices" colors mean printed right on the panel. Thank you for that small nicety, Xaoc Devices, and this innovative module. And thanks for the great review / demo, Edd.
Ideally you should be 12 when you get your modular set up and by 40 you'll have your first tune done.

jeez...i was faster....🤣
I dissed this when hearing the first demos, but this video changed my mind. Loads of the stuff you do with it sounds really really good in my ears. Take care, stay safe.
Another great vid, Ed, brilliantly explained.
super easy to understand not a lot of silly noises , clear clean explanation.
Sounds like a moving picture. It’s pretty stunning. Nice demo.
Xaoc are so good. I have their Sewastol since four years, absolute swiss army knife of audio interfacing. Wouldn't trade it for anything except maybe the updated version. Also have Zadar, which is crazy in it's own right. Odessa is very exciting.
Seriously more people need to do drone demos. Fancy grooves over beats are great, or like explaining Easter egg features like divkid for 45 minutes is fine but if you’re really looking to get these on a tool by tool musical basis this is what people need to do. This actually lets me know it’s features way deeper...
XAOC Devices with another winner. Everything they set their hands to is gold. Than's for a proper review.
Cheers Edd, really nice review. :)
Great review! Thank you for not producing hellish noises.
God modules like this make me want to return back to modular..
Great overview. Very methodical.
nice module for polyphonic stuff and it actually sounds quite interesting. damn
Fantastic review
Thanks, enjoyed that.
great job !
Great demo patches
Wow this thing can go from "techno bassline" to "birdsong" and back again real fucking quick
6:00 Serious Little Dragon "Looking Glass" vibes right here.
I love it.
just got one -- its great -- dont mind the digital sound but im mixing it with a pure analogue rig. likex
I love Xaoc Device modules such retro hip factor to them. Odessa with Belgrad for the win.
how did you play the chords from the last bit at 13:00 til the end of the video? sounds amazing!

That's what I'd like to know as well!
it's the best oscillator for alien sounds and textures imho
what sequencer do you use here?
Very juicy oscillator
I cut my finger and it’s bleeding joy
Ed is named after a filter type.
DAMN what’s that break at 10:00
Sounds cool. If you are into Eurorack stuff check out Colin Benders daily streams. 13:00(UK) today then alternates to 20:00. Amazing stuff and great community. :-)
What are you sequencing the HEL with? You mention 3 notes from a sequencer, but there’s 4 inputs plus a root input.

I was sequencing with Malekko Voltage Block. I think in the section you're thinking of I must have been in the 3 voice mode so the other two inputs are ignored. i.e. input 4&5.
Too dark but good content
Одесса - мама!
This thing is giving me GAS

Sorry that's not a Reese bass, far from
