Song: The Doomsday Zone Game: Sonic & Knuckles (1994) Composer: Sachio Ogawa, Yoshiaki Kashima, Tatsuyuki Maeda, Jun Senoue, or Masanori Hikichi* *None of Michael Jackson’s Sound Team worked on S&K, meaning that Doomsday was made by either Sega or Cube. Tomonori Sawada had confirmed to only compose S3’s Title Screen, Miyoko Takaoka only composed Marble Garden, & Howard Drossin confirmed to only compose both S&K’s Title Screen & Knuckles’ Theme. The E3 Demo for Sonic Generations contained a remix of Doomsday for the Big Arm boss fight, which was likely arranged by Jun Senoue, however it’s unknown if he actually composed it or not as it didn’t appear in the final game. This leaves either Sachio Ogawa, Yoshiaki Kashima, Tatsuyuki Maeda, Masanori Hikichi, & possibly Jun Senoue to have composed the song.

They way the whole percussion drum section of the orchestra is in the background playing softly other than the giant four on the floor base drum bring out the seriousness that is the doomsday zone, its all just an amazing combination of melody, great job.

Technically there is no reason Hyper Sonic has to be canon. You can’t get it if you play the games separately and you could ignore it in the combined version. However, it would’ve been cool and this is the perfect place to use it.

iirc according to a dev interview canonically he never got the super emeralds and he did use super sonic during the fight, hyper sonic was just added as a bonus

Big arm was a final boss of sonic 3 at the end of the launch base zone. It was a blue flying capsule with spikes on top and a big arm it would use to grab you and slam you into the ground. If you only played the combined version of 3&K, I don't think Big Arm was in the sonic play-through unless you were playing sonic 3 by itself. it was in the knuckles path both ways. I don't remember it having this music though.
