@@Chris_8 same universe - different timeline. They just messed with the canon in Forces with that "other universe" line, which I believe was a translation error.

@@InitialAA They aren’t in the same universe tho, Classic Sonic went back to his after the events of forces. (if you ever played Sonic Mania Plus encore mode, you can see Sonic coming back to his universe)

@@Chris_8 yeah it's just him returning to his timeline. If you're gonna bring that up you might as well discuss the fact that he even went to the main modern timeline in the first place. Point being - it doesn’t matter. The events of 1, 2, CD, 3K all took place in the main modern sonic timeline. It's just that the time eater interfered with another timeline which was right around the time the events of 3K ended and thus events of Generations, Mania, Sonic Mania Adventures/Encore were all witnessed by this sonic. But this sonic will also one day grow up and turn into modern sonic in his own timeline.

would be interesting make the 3d sections using sprites but still play it in 3D (or modern sonic style) but hey, it was pretty well made

I never knew there was actually a sonic generations part 2 kinda on the 3DS it's all 2D style with different stages but the same output I'll be cool if they Port that to the Nintendo switch
