Nicholas Kozee I grew up with the American, so I'm obviously biased. I also played it when it first came out so it has childhood memories attached to it. Still prefer Ice Cap Zone from Sonic 3 as the best music. And Sonic 3 music as a whole.

i loved this game as a kid. i would play this or sonic r almost everyday

Although I prefer the JP/EU soundtrack, I never really had the chance to sit back and really appreciate the US version. While I feel the JP's lighthearted tone better fits a Sonic game, the darker tone of the US version is pretty badass.

I'm sorry, but there's a few good number of US tracks that dominates the JP versions. Especially Stardust Speedway Present. Those who say the JP sounds better than track needs a hearing aid.

@@TheDayd111returns I very much disagree with you Stardust Speedway present (JP) is much better than the US version. The US is only really better in Tidal Tempest and Wacky Workbench, and fits the game as the US doesn't have unique past songs

Why the 360 version? You have to wait for the fanfare to conclude before the score is tallied. What a huge pain.

Good future

A couple of the first zones, I was all "I bet I've come really close to that time before". Then I saw the collision chaos boss and was dumbstruck. Fuck that guy, I think my absolute best time ever is still almost ten seconds more than you did and I thought that had to be some kind of record.

As someone who grew up with original Mega Drive releases, I never had the chance to play Sonic CD. From watching the speedrun just there, I'm glad I didn't. It looks shoddy and trashy compared to it's predecessors and I know my 6 y/o self would've had the same reaction I did just now.

It's good, but it's got some pretty bad level design in some places. Wacky Workbench and the Collision Chaos boss. The rest are just too short. I'm serious, it's real easy and it's much shorter than the others.

I'll never understand why they freakin' ripped away the original sound track and put this shit on there. At least the 360 version lets you pick the sound track. Just wish they picked the Japanese sound track, it was a million times better.

What is wrong with the US? They're both just as good and are very different. The US ost has a very different tone that focus more on the stage's atmosphere! The JP is very happy-go-lucky and Sonic like.

Daydrian Lewis (DAYD111) The reason why I don't like the US is because although some of the tracks are atmospheric, many of the tracks are very generic and forgetful compared to the Japanese soundtrack. Also, the past themes are all lietmotif's of the past theme, so it's awkward to hear a US soundtrack, then go to stardust speedway and hear HUEHUEHUEH in the past.

Waaayyyy too many people talking in the first part of the video. Otherwise awesome run. My childhood has been destroyed

Did you know that if you don't touch your controller for 3 minutes in a stage sonic would jump off the stage committing suicide and no matter how many lives you have the life count will go to 0 and the GAME OVER screen will show up.

GoquandZ he does not commit suicide he jumped back to his planet as you see from the intro when you start a new game you see Sonic run to the planet that Robotnik captured and when 3 minutes pass (without moving Sonic)he will jump down to his planet.

If you're not going for the good ending, you can easily beat the entire game in under 25 minutes. I've done so multiple times, and I'm no good at speedrunning at all. However, a short game isn't necessarily an easy one. Many NES games were designed to be difficult, because they were short and developers didn't want people to beat the games in under five minutes on their first run.

GBA play the sega cd version or check a KZread video of someone finishing a zone and compare to the modern version. The points count as soon as that sound track for zone clear plays instead of waiting for the music to stop. Also the music doesn't fade out on the sega cd version. Me personally I prefer the sega cd version except for the 60fps special stages but for a better experience and cleaner sound and physics I stick with the original
