Okay I see the what you meant by missing 2nd part now actually..the original beta loop cuts off and loops again a bit faster than the remastered one does.

The fact that this project exists AND it's given to both the JP and US OSTs makes me impeccably happy.

Y'know what they say, third time's the charm! Regardless, thank you for your hard work on this tough subject. The US and JP CD OSTs are the best in the entire series, both are equals in my eyes. It's crazy how this was made 30 years ago with the limitations back then.

I really like how the JP and US soundtracks can give a completely different perspective on the zones and their general vibes, Collision Chaos and Stardust Speedway in particular.

Until I came across this video and read the description, I never knew Mark "Sterling" Crew, Armando Peraza, or Bobby Vega worked on the US Soundtrack. I always thought it was just Spencer Nilsen, David Young, and the members of Pastiche. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

This is the most dedicated thing that i've seen ever before with a soundtrack. Thanks all of you for your work!

I was just in the middle of watching the old one when this popped up! Fantastic compilations, I don't mind rewatching it.

Okay, as soon as I listened to the JP part of the soundtrack, I'm just dancing and just vibing to this masterpiece, but there are some songs that just need a few touch-ups to fit in the unused loops better when I was listening to them. Here's some recommendations to make the JP version of the songs sound better imo: PP Pr & GF (8 times unused loops), CC BF (section c 8 times loop, 4 times unused loop) , QQ Pr (4 times loop) & BF (4 times unused loop and 4 times transition to unused loop), WW Pr, BF & GF (4 times unused loops for Pr, GF & BF, 4 times transition loop to unused loop). Despite that, I love the soundtrack so much and thank you for making them even better. Now I can listen and enjoy to these songs in their full glory (Also there's a prototype version of Collision Chaos Past that's CD quality and is found on the 0.51 version of the prototype. Hope you add that in there too!).

I appreciate the feedback! While some of these suggestions may sound better, the goal of this project was to be accurate to how the beta loops were intended to be used. I also believe you are mistaken about the 0.51 beta having a CD quality version of Collision Chaos "P" Mix. There are some slight differences compared to the final but it's not CD quality. This should be the final one! There would have to be a major bombshell of a reveal like the original uncompressed loops being discovered for me to even consider doing a fourth one. If another obscure official remix is discovered I'll probably just add it to the download links rather then making another video for it. As of now this is the most "complete" release of the soundtrack available on KZread.

The passage of time made me realize that the US OST is not as bad as I thought a few years ago, although I don't think it is as good as the Japanese, I have started to enjoy it, I listened to the entire video without problems

God damn, the US Bad Futures give you the feeling that everything around you is fucking dying in pain. Somehow it feels TOO much for a Sonic game, and I know that's kinda the point of the game, but also the JP versions are more exaturated and groovy... The US Bad Futures are literally terrifying.

Meanwhile, Metallic Madness's Bad Future songs are both very fitting. JP's conveys Eggman laughing at you knowing you're going to get the bad ending. US's conveys the scale of destruction Robotnik has left behind.

I'm pretty sure all those game's already have full complete soundtracks. What's wrong with it? The metadata isn't going to be consistent from track to track due to having multiple artists and albums.

​@@Plumbers_Helper Well for example, track 2 - 5 use the track numbers of 2, 02, 3, 5. Some tracks have disc numbers while some don't, the Album Artist should be the same for all but isn't, the genre is inconsistent, the Restored and US past tracks don't have an album, that kind of thing. Mostly just small inconsistencies which don't really affect anything. I've been using MP3tag to fix these up easily. Edit: Also Quartz Quadrant's filename has an extra space

Nice job on this! One thing I've realized in my research is that I'm unsure if Sonic Boom-Opening and Closing were co-composed and arranged by David Young, is there any specific evidence pointing to one or the other you've found?

Yes. The US manual and the Sonic the Hedgehog Boom Album both credit all of Spencer Nilsen's music as being "Co-composed and Co-arranged by David Young" even though David Young's name isn't credited in the section that lists the Opening lyrics. Wow, I didn't even realize it's been almost a full year! I don't have any plans unfortunately. I feel like I've accomplished all my goals with this project. Unless another obscure official remix is found or a new beta is discovered with unused music I don't think there's anything left to add. If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know!

@@LiterallyAlive Honestly it's actually supposed to be even louder using the same LUFS process I used with every other loop. I thought that was way to loud so I decided to just leave volume unmodified. The volume it's at now is slightly quieter/almost identical to the original PCM loop when properly adjusted.

@@GSPScorp Only the beta loops from the JP soundtrack are higher quality thanks to Collision Chaos Radio and DeevDaRabbit. Everything else quality wise is exactly how it is from the original game or album.

I don't have any plans, sorry. It took me months to put this together since I had constant recording problems with OBS where it kept skipping frames and Shotcut kept using up all my RAM. Even after upgrading to 64 GB of RAM Shotcut kept freezing and crashing from low RAM. In other words, this video took A LOT of time and effort to put together and I don't want to go through that all over again unless I think it's necessary. If I could change anything, I would like to redo the D.A Garden sections now that the planet's Day/Night palettes from the Sega CD version has been added to Classic CD Tweaks.

I love and hate the US soundtrack but the fact they use the same arrangements of Sonic Boom like 5 times is just so...noticeable. Yes i get as always with this series the composers were probably rushed but still unfortunate

(speaking of Jp ost) Me personally, I dislike the Palmtree Panic BF beatbox, think Collision Chao's BF loop works better at the start, think Tidal Tempest's BF loop is better at the start, also think Stardust Speedway's BF loop should be at the start, and dislike Metallic Madness' Present loop. Besides from all that, I think this is the best sounding version of the ost! Thank you for the effort

@@tylerparkes-jk7uv I just feel like some of the themes without the loop at the start have a weaker intro. If the intros were just longer than I'd like the loops following them, or maybe have it both at the start and end.

That's from the fan made Sonic CD Looping Project. You see, when the beta loops were first discovered back in the early 2000s there was much speculation as to how that were supposed to be used. This led to numerous fan projects that attempted to add the beta loops back to the soundtrack in their own way. One of the most popular versions was called the Sonic CD Looping Project and was originally available to download at sonicretro.org. Back then Sonic Retro had pretty much every soundtrack from every Sonic game released at the time available for download but eventually removed them all. I don't remember the exact reason why they were removed, but this also included the Sonic CD Looping Project. It wasn't until years latter shortly after the release of the 2011 remake of the game (which also used it's own interpretation of the beta loops just like the many fan projects from before) that Masato Nishimura (best known for his Fun is Infinite "Majin Sonic" artwork at 4:18:25) finally revealed how they were supposed to be used and just last year unused broken code was discovered in the v0.51 beta that confirms what he said: twitter.com/SCDDeconstruct/status/1605553041268056065?s=20&t=FagNGfJUFyY31BEZrVwoVw The Sonic CD Looping Project still seems to be somewhat popular since this isn't the first time someone has asked about them in one of my videos. Hey Plumbers_Helper, here's something that discoreved these days that i've found interestining. Recently i've came across this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5iV2dKcnMfUmrA.html which cointains Sonic CD's american soundtrack from the original Sega CD release of the game, everything seemed normal until the minute 30:33 which cointains apart of Metallic Madness Bad Future that isn't included in the 2011 remaster. After that i've had some question such as how does that part that comes after sound? How many tracks are there that we barely have an idea of what they sound like in full? Man, i don't know if i had just gone insane or whatever, i just wanted answers to the production of the US ost not more questions!

That's the original ending from the Sega CD release. The 2011 release extended the song slightly by using a part from the album version. As I mentioned in the description we know nothing about the extended bits from the Boom album or even if they meant to be used in the US soundtrack at all. For all we know they could have been created just for the album release. The only small clue that suggests the album tracks were going to be used in the US soundtrack comes from Stardust Speedway Bad Future, as the released version fades out right as a section exclusive to the album starts. Most of my implementations were based of the 2011 versions since their the only thing we have to an "official" placement of the album tracks.
