Sonic Boom- French Horn Fanfare
Музыка
The popular Sonic Boom played as a French Horn Trio! This was my 2nd attempt at making a multitrack with audio and video using FinalCut. Hope you enjoy!
Edit: 2/21/12 24,000+ views thank you so much everyone!! :)
6/17/12 WOW 31,000+ views, never thought it would get this many! And thanks for all the great comments :)
2/15/13 50,000 views, thank you everyone :D I hope to be able to make more multitracks soon- I apologize I haven't been doing much, college is getting to me a little and I need to put my focus there and in my swimming. During breaks though I will try to make some music :)

Considering the French Horn is incredibly difficult to not crack on, I gave this dude major props for playing it borderline perfectly.

Danson Francis what about people that second on horn?
This is not the Sonic CD track I was expecting, but it was the track I needed. Thank you.
I love this ! and your tone is amazing !! Thought it was very clever how you've done this :D xx
No shit! Albert Wesker really knows how to play French Horn.
Love how you wore different sunglasses haha from a horn player to another you're a babe and a fabulous player!
I play both french horn and tuba, and I have to say this is truly amazing. At my school, we play this in Bb minor.
This guys really good I want to play as good as him some day!
@FrenchHornBoy1 Thanks! And glad to hear from another horn player! I would say including the practice, recording and editing this took me about 2 or 3 weeks to finish (working nearly every day on it).
As a horn player of seven months, this really inspires and motivates me. I hope that some day, with enough practice and dedication, I can play this. I make it my goal to :)

Keep practicing and you can do it!
@MsBaby2fresh thanks! I found a version written for any instrument in Treble Clef and used the transposed version (easily in the french horn range) to play, I think the original was for Tuba and low brass (t-bone, baritone, etc)
thanks! I don't have really great video editing skills so this is the best I could do- otherwise I would've spent more time (and if I had better than cheap programs) and made it really inconspicuous. Glad to know it's not obnoxiously evident :D
@JIZZYJAY3697 Thanks! spent several tries getting a good recording, lost count at how many attempts I made haha, but I still like the trombone version- I'd like to play with deeper pitches if I could but I couldn't quite make it work so I went up an octave
last note is beautiful
This is amazing. I want to play it, you did an awesome job with this video. :D
@marchingchchick0214 thanks!! that means a lot to me :) Hopefully going to have another video uploaded within the week of something I just put together today!!
i can never get used to the small mouthpieces on frenchies and trumpets
This is awesome!!!! :D
@wongster88 same! Lovin everything here at UB, and happy new year to you too man!
this is so cool!!
you are correct, sir, haha I am a swimmer for the University at Buffalo right now :P hope you're enjoying it- swimming is so much fun, and french horn is just awesome XD
Amazing! Best minute and twenty seconds of my life! I fear for the repeat buttons life! Form a fellow French Horn player it is always refreshing to hear something so good! Im going on my 5th year and would like to give this piece a try, please send it to me!
@TheSaibot95 thank you! And that's great! I've found there aren't many french horn players out there so keep up playing my friend! :)
@boom253ROBLOX thanks man! it took a lot of work to get it a fine-tuned haha but I love the sound of a horn honestly- glad you enjoy it! I definitely will, keep up the music!
@RayLathrophornBA that's awesome to hear! And you're welcome :)
Thanks you! :) That means a lot to me, and I'm sending you a message with information about how to get the music- hope it works for you :) It's a great piece, much fun to play!
Because my man's on fire! Excellent job!
I wish I could like it a million times
i need those shades, im blinded by the awesomeness
keep up the awesomness horn buddy!!
Wonderful!
@RekotShpotSirhc thanks! That really means a lot to me :) and there are some good Tuba recordings out there I'm sure...haha that aren't totally spitty and below audible range XD
Awesome!
@MrGuitar144 it's slightly different for tuba because the mouthpiece is bigger, all I can really say is practice and MORE AIR :) more air always solves everything right? haha that's what our Conductor used to say until one day we blew her ears out cuz she told us 4 times "more air!". Now she just laughs and says "you know what I'm going to say..."
that was awesome
This is pretty awesome! Where do you get your music from? I play the French Horn too, and I want to find French Horn solo parts to play. Any suggestions where to get it?
@SuperLegokill It is hard I must say, but very fulfilling when you learn it because the tone and sound you get is unrivaled by any other instrument I think ;)

But not trombone lol😈
@CyberShinyNinja Yes it starts on a G I believe, and haha you're right it is fairly easy to listen to and figure out after a little bit :)
Wow.... (speechless)
AWSOME
no problem! and go for it, have fun! :)
wow! I love this! I play by my self horn! And you are Very, very goood!!!
I don’t know this piece but it’s a great fanfare. Good job.
Why thank you! ^.^ :D
Looks like Kaz knows how to play two instruments now, fiddle and French horn.
that was so epic, screw trombone, the horn is where it's at!
@Darkprince1045 Thanks! And I believe the highest note I get to is a G on top of the staff, and I agree you can't get any better than a horn player! ;)
my marching bands sousaphone section plays this as a stand tune (we call it snake pit , id like to know the origins of this piece, maybe it originated here
Dude you're awesome. I want to be that good one day
YYAAA!!!! way to rep the horns!!!
Well yes and no- the large range is what makes that true in the upper register of the horn, in the lower register our partials are still far apart haha, but yeah up high you can play almost an entire scale with no valves just lipping it up each pitch
@Shamrocky34 thanks! haha yeah old faithful ^^
Thanks
Respect...
All the tuba versions over there ------> suck. This wins. Nicely done :D My horn section needs to see this!
idk if i'm just stupid but i feel like this dude's tone sounds shockingly similar to the musescore's french horn sound.
French horn master race.
u r so freaking awesome~!!!!!!!!!! \
Cooooooooool
Were can I get sheet music for this? My section at school is looking for a fanfare and I like this.
You have my respect sir, from a fellow French hornist
Horn is a complex/difficult instrument, speaking from pro experience. The recommendations I can make are: "Learn to rest and relax while performing (sitting or standing), use proper hand stopping technique, and if using a double horn or triple horn be sure to use the trigger(s)". A last remark would be: "Wearing sunglasses and sweats to give the impression of being nonchalant isn't well-received, when the performance doesn't give the same impression." --- on the whole ... good job.
you rock
To all those judging high brass. A french horn is often mistaken as a low brass instrument in some composistions cause of their beautiful tone in the low register. This guy just decided to play in the high register
any tips? i still struggle and i have been playing for 3 years lel xD surprisingly enough im first chair
Your tone is really good for horn.
i don't play the french horn but this video is cool, i played this music once
@MrGuitar144 oh yeah, definitely in the 2nd part about halfway through o.0
12 years later, are you still playing?
bro u the shit after I watched it the first time I wanted to play concert French horn keep making more video 😀😀😀😀
@iSwimmer So is that what it starts on? a G? I can figure it out if I know the starting pitch of each part.
@wongster88 thanks man! how's everything going?
...you have sick flow
@kaitlmm Honestly I couldn't tell you, lol this horn is 33 years old and that grip has been with it longer than I've been alive :P
Is there a way you could pass on to me the music sheets for all 3 parts please? Great job dude!
What brand is this horn?
same here :D
I would love to have music to do this in the band hall with my section it would be total pownage over all the other section in the band french horns ftw!

Steven Carranza I believe I did this with Finalcut? It was a long time ago...right now I’m using Sony Vegas and it’s just as simple as taking 3 cuts without moving the camera and overlaying them accordingly
how do you get those high G please tell me its so hard
