This game feels like if the franchise stayed on the train of the Game Gear's spritework upscaled to the capabilities of the Sega CD. Simpler designs, bubblier aesthetic, but a full disc-quality soundtrack and more effects than just spritework by itself. I also love that Eggman's normal final boss mech is basically just making himself but with Sonic's abilities.

It ain’t a 10/10, I’d say maybe an 8 or 8.5

The design is based on simplicity and somehow reminds me of some of those 70-80’ advertising posters. And I like it. Although, can I just say that the bosses would require a little more “oomph” because they don’t seem to put up a lot of excitement in the fights.

No, when the emeralds become super emeralds (because of the Master Emerald), the yellow one becomes orange and it isn't the case here: he became Super Sonic and was fueled with the fallen star.

Even if it seems good, Sega proposed many good games like Sonic unleashed for example (even fans used it as a base to do Sonic omens).

They keep the same formule and prefer not taking risk like Sega did with Sonic lost world: an interesting and underrated game despite the bad scenario. And I doubt that fans would have the patience and the will do a game more impressing than Sonic frontiers.
