I meant to come back and comment here as well, I had just reached out to you on Twitter first. xD Thank you for coming to watch, Joe, and for developing another version of the game for the community to enjoy and get spooked out by I think Sonic.exe has been a big part of HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES in the Sonic community for a long time, and it was a lot of fun to experience them for the first time. The PC Port is so creative in its execution, between the popups and making use of the notepad function. I laughed a lot and had a ton of fun with the game, but I was also creeped out enough not to want that file just chilling out on my computer forever xDD That thing had to go, FAST! It's great to hear you're continuing the project! I'd love to do a follow up video and play some more, since it ended on a cliffhanger, haha Also it's really sweet that you mentioned enjoying our work here on SonicSong, I'm always flattered to hear that Take care, Joe, thank you for commenting!

I think out of all the gods mentioned, just Chaos and Chip would like to have a word, because Dark Gaia and Solaris would immediately attempt to kill Sonic.EXE Chip and Chaos are humane and will approach this in a civilized manner.

In my opinion, the best horror is that of the psychological variety, which the last one started venturing into. Making you question what's actually happening and what isn't. Making you question your understanding of the game, and how it interacts with the world. Jumpscares and gore can only go so far for shock value, but seeding uncertainty lasts... Brave folks you got, laughing off the horror. Wish I was around to see the live premiere...

I tend to agree! I like psychological horror the best, which usually requires that a piece of media takes its time to build tension and play mind games with you haha. Jump scares will always be effective for a little burst of alarm, but those are annoying, nobody comes out of a movie or game thinking "boy those jump scares were the best part lol", and it's easy to just shrug off the gore, or even laugh about it when it can be so over the top sometimes! That certainly happened here, you literally hear how hard I burst out laughing as soon as the game got to the gory stuff LOL. The creepiest thing about the game was the music building tension, and not being able to see things very well sometimes, and the innate human fear of POP UPS lol. It's a lot of fun to play with a friend so you can go in as a team, haha

This game was what kept me up at night for what probably was a year. Now, I'm dying in laughter with Sonic and Tails playing this. I wish this video came out when I was a child. My fears of Sonic.EXE would've been gone much sooner. I probably would've laughed with Sonic and Tails as well. Love your videos, by the way. Watched them ever since the age of nine. If you guys think this game's horrifying, wait till you guys play Sonic.exe the disaster. How do I know about it, you ask? Well in the Silver the hedgehog KZread channel, I saw Silver (not the Silver you guys know) along with his friends Sonic, Knuckles, Amy, Lance, Sally, Cream, and Vector play it in a couple of his videos. Lance the Jackal was a part of it before the update and Cream was part of it after the update. So yeah a lot of killing. I also saw lots of funny moments about it.

I Have to say, I LOVE THE COSTUMES!

Sonic.exe is like a coin. On one side it's a stupid meme, a simple little thing to make jokes and stupid cartoons about. On the other, it's the scariest thing you can imagine. A reality bending demon that took the form of something from your childhood. On it's side it's Sunky.MPEG.

Seriously, this game is dark, and horrified me as a child… Either way, this was great to seen Tails and Sonic react to this… insanity, of games. Also Love the VTuber models they have!

I can see why something like this would be really scary if you run into it a certain time in your life! It did some good work with building spooky tension, even if I thought some of the gore was so over the top that it was funny lol. Thank you about the Vtuber models! 22:53 the music used is a sonic.exe fan made chase theme for a chapter in Dead by Daylight. If you want to find the video it also has a main menu theme as well. The guy also made other fan made themes for characters for DBD

I missed the boat on Sonic.exe being a popular new Creepypasta, but people have been asking me to play it for years lol. There were definitely some creepy elements where I was little on edge, but it was mostly music and atmosphere, rather than the horror elements themselves. As you can see from watching the video, the gore parts actually made me burst out laughing I think it was laughing in surprise, just because it was so over the top xD The game was fun and it got more and more creative in execution as we went along. It was especially fun just getting to play them with Nate lol, hard to get too scared with a buddy there!

I think that's a good way to describe the experience xD I had never played or seen Sonic.exe gameplay before, and "hilarious and disturbing" is a good way to put it -- at least when playing with a good friend so you can laugh about it together!

It hits home when sonic actually says the dialog

That was definitely unexpected, but good job getting through the games!

So funny thing. PC Port Sonic.exe is actually in the Sonic.exe Friday Night Funkin mod if you (SongSong182 Crew) didn't know already, and for both PC Port and Mod, One of the Sonics is called "Lord X" hence the literal X on his chest. I wonder what would've happened had Sonic.exe PC Port not been cancelled. I'm theorizing, because the player was checking notes from Tails, Lord X would've been more...gruesome when playing as Knuckles, and probably even worse when playing as Eggman. What are your theories on Sonic.exe PC Port if it wasn't cancelled? (the question is for everyone including SonicSong182 Crew btw)
