I truly love this reimagining. It brings in characters fitting for the time the original game came out, like Nack the Weasel, Tails Doll and Metal Knuckles. Adding to that, there are neat foreshadows to Sonic Adventure which this reimagining is set up as a prequel to, such as E-99 being a precursor to Gamma, Silver Sonic II being fightable, and Eggman having a hybrid of his classic and modern outfits to show his eventual transition into his modern design.

I might be late, but I appreciate how Tails doll is treated as he should be here, as Tails's robotic rival akin to Metal Sonic or Metal Knuckles. Yet they still have a cheeky little homage to the fact dumb creepy pastas were created about him with a phase where he is damaged and a creepy robotic eye reveals itself from under the soft plush exterior.

@@thevenomspino you know kinda makes me wish Tails Doll didn’t just appear in Sonic R and had more appearances in the main games. I guess that’s something I like about the Archie Comics they don’t just do the same thing but they also take characters that have appeared throughout the series some which some may consider very obscure like Tails Doll and gives them a part in the stories like how Tails Doll was planted by Eggnan to be a spy and then when it was discovered it revealed it’s more monstrous form.

@@HoodiewearingOpp to acess the secret switch you need to beat the game with all chaos emeralds and then go to gene gadget zone act 1 and there should be a switch at the top of the capsule before the boss fight also you may need tails,knuckles,bluckles,wechina

Lovely rom hack! I truly wish that this was the game we could have gotten in order to close out Sonic's Genesis games. Something like this would have been the proper send-off before moving on to the Saturn, and then later going true full 3D on the Legendary Dreamcast console!

Spring stadium makes me remind of Carnival night zone from sonic 3 & knuckles Same with diamond dust zone which is ice cap zone from S3&K also Volcano Valley has a touch as meaning it is similar to S3&K’s and Sonic Mania’s Lava Reef Zone. Wait … I have three more That Panic Puppet Zone Reminds me of Launch Base ( S3&K ) with the spinning capsules . Gene Gadget Zone Reminds me of Flying Battery Zone from Sonic Mania also Green Grove Zone Reminds me of Emerald Hill Zone ( STH2 )

As well, It’s been paired up with Metal Sonic, Metal Knuckles, Or Egg Robo in countless fan art, Animations, Etc. Plus the red eyes mean he is activated….this is not an .Exe game anyway. Have you also seen phase 2 where it clearly shows the endo skeleton of Tails Doll, Which has the same eye as Metal Sonic?

We can slip this in between 3 and knuckles or after triple trouble 16 bit. Maybe if sonic, tails and knuckles runs are the only ones counted

Just fix up the Special Stages and give the Panic Puppet boss a new theme and I think this would actually pass for a really good Sonic 4 in the mid-late 90s.
