Since 1993, I always remembered the intro as nearly a blastbeat. And it still begs to abolish the 80s squeekly leads used in all the KZread covers, for the black metal low-mid drone intro. I guess I must post the edgelord kvlt version now, as if I know what I'm doing at all. Onwards to probably hurt myself.
I love it when VGM can be made metal so effortlessly as if they were composed as metal riffs to begin with. Oh yeah, and everything from 1:18 onwards just screams Pantera!

The Sonic 2 boss theme is the first song I ever loved, maybe my first earworm. I was maybe in the second grade back then. I would play the first world over and over again to hear the boss music. This lasted until I got a hold of DKC2, then Final Fantasy 7. Anyways, what I'm saying is, I'm not allowed to play music at get-togethers. people don't understand good music.
