Look at her competition face, standing behind her, especially the young lady in the red dress...that look is saying " oh my God we are finished" she is so brave at 7 yrs!!!

I also love when she sings" Its A Mans world." With a live band. You will shudder even the band gets amazed.

You are barely scratching the surface of what this incredibly gifted and talented young musical genius is capable of. Angelina has the innate ability to channel the music and the singing styles of the old school jazz and blues singers that came before her. I highly recommend that you watch her nine year old performance of James Brown’s “I put a spell on you next. You will be blown away by what you hear. This “I put a spell on you” performance has accrued over seven million views and they just keep on coming.

Soul, did you notice that right after Angelina gave her uncanny mature and soulful performance it was like a switch flipped and Angelina transformed to her seven year old self? Seeing that confirms what Angelina said about going to a special place in her mind when she’s singing. There aren’t enough superlatives to adequately describe Angelina’s immense talent.

You wait until you hear her do I Put a Spell On You, Black and White version. She’s only 9, but attacks that song and wrestles it to the ground. She’s channeling Screaming Jay Hawkins, so it’s really crazy. Also, it’s her own arrangement of the song, you see her giving notes to the band leader at the beginning.

This ( as most of her performances ) was really mind blowing to me. You hear this kid performers with great voices and great technique on these talent shows perform songs by copying an original arrangement. Not this Girl. That is why I said it before, and I will say it again. She has no business on America's got talent, This young lady is in a whole different class of Talent (and sadly, they dont even understand what they are listening to). She actually does her own arrangements, writes music, is able to sing blues and jazz type of material, which requires you to sing on and off pitch as well as, on and of rhythm to create that feel. Everything she sings, she makes her own. She is not just singing, she is making outstanding musical choices. (mind blowing to me). Factor in her age, singing in a second language and , oh yah, a Capella. She is something special. This girl ain't tryin to be a Disney princess, she is pouring her heart and soul into her performances. Her feel for music is incredible. Can't learn that anywhere, even if you could, it wouldn't be learned by the ripe old age of 7. I am glad that she got exposure, on America's got talent, because that is the only thing positive that could come out of that type of show. And I am also glad that she such strong and well balanced support from her family and people around her. This girl is one of a kind, and you dont believe it, name any kid singer or artist that sing Billy Holiday, Sinatra or Ella type music. ya won't find them. In fact I will bet you any amount, thy will not even have heard of these artists. . Cant wait to see where she goes from here. She will struggle, however (and as someone who plays Jazz Piano I understand) with the fact that the music she loves is long gone and has a tiny Fan base, so she will have to adapt, how she sings, to contemporary music, to fulfill her dream of becoming a international singing sensation. But somehow I have no doubt she will succeed. You just cant hold a gift like that down.

Watching a knowledgeable musician react to Angelina is so enjoyable. Especially when you’re a Billie Holiday fan. Angelina is in a class by herself. Get ready to see her evolve and demolish songs in other genres. It’s hard to think that such a young girl can actually startle you when she begins a song, but trust me, that continues today. It seems like you might move on chronologically and watch Summertime or Bang, Bang from this same show. Both are jaw-dropping. The maturity of style is not believable. I’m old-I always loved Bang, Bang-both when Cher and Nancy Sinatra did it in the 60’s. You wouldn’t think it’s possible for Angelina to out-soul either of them, but her performance is absolutely my favorite. Angelina with just a guitar backing her is perfect. Her ability to interpret lyrics, honestly, is the best I’ve ever heard. In Bang, Bang, you’ll see a child capture the melancholy and deliver it in a way that wrenches your soul. And Summertime? She just kills it. It’s Angelina already putting her own spin on a classic and changing how you remember that song. And then you’ll see Angelina branching out, becoming better, her voice maturing over the next six years. But always at the center of her performances is that warm, resonant, soulful, slightly raspy voice that draws you in. I wish this was my line, but it’s repeated by many commenters: Angelina’s voice is like a drug.

yep johnvasi, I gave up my addiction to online shopping and instead spend a few evenings each week listening to Angelina... saving lots of money and perhaps even becoming "enlightened" by her Angelic voice... lucky lucky me, lucky lucky us :)

This quarterfinal cut performance was a gem. Marvelous how she pulled the opening note out of nowhere and delivered a stunner to the judges. You can see the disheartened faces of the other contestants as they are in the presence of Angelina in a league of her own. Billie Holiday looks down with the other Heavenly Hosts with loving approval. You have not wasted your life, you have found the Gift from Providence. Bless you.

She next sings in the competition Nancy Sinatra’s version of Bang Bang and then Summertime. She gets better and better if you can believe it!

Yup. This is Angelina Jordan. Always a wow factor. Not only she sings extremely well, her tone and her feel to the music are just off the chart.

I like your reactions because your reaction resembles my own. Its such a shock that you feel disbelief. It's not just talent, loads of people have talent but this girl has something beyond talent, it's more like she's just embodying the music. Like she's channeling greatness somehow. Awesome analysis, Soul. I actually discovered Angelina immediately after having a heart attack and you can rest assured that all she has done in the meantime is help to keep me alive. 😂. When you hear more of her stylistic range you will get a better sense of what I mean by the healing powers of her music. Such an incredible young person. It’s hard to explain what still awaits you. It’s not more of the same. There is of course more classic jazz standards, but her sound, her different ways of projecting emotionally, new and different and exciting vocal skills that you’ll discover in her voice, It’s like an expanding supernova filling up your musical universe. She has the power to rock you with her power, shock you with her tonal range, calm your nerves or make you (or at least me) cry. She can do justice to so many different styles, eras, artists and genres, and yet always be true to that Angelina Jordon we all grew to love the first time we heard her.

Soul, Mike Hoy is right about that video of her laying down the track of I'm A Fool To Want You for her 2018 album "It's Magic." It is a cellphone video that had poor audio, so Rusty just dubbed the audio from the album over the poor audio of the video. Her Mom & Grandma are there watching, so she keeps going back & forth between being a 12 yo signaling them when she is not singing & then transforming into a 40 yo jazz singer when she sings.
