@Aswin Dahal try your best to stay committed to "actual practice" I fall into the hole of noodling a lot, which is playing songs you already know or just playing random chords or melodies without any structure. But I also set aside 30 minutes to an hour to practice finger exercises, scales, and sometimes even learning new songs! Take some time and do some homework for yourself! I keep a journal with all the notes I need from all open chords, how patterns work for major and minor scales, and even all the modes and patters for each scale. Writing out each thing makes it stick in my brain just that much more to help me remember!

Fr. I'm 13 years oldboutta turn 14 and this is my second year playing guitar and i can play the sweet child o' mine solo and hotel california, comfortably numb and stuff like that lmao. I barely consider myself intermediate. ig we're all wrong.

Under the bridge is one of my favourite songs and it’s also the song that truly made to decide to commit to guitar playing,I have been playing for 8 months now

Seeing these listed as intermediate, I feel a little bit better about my abilities to play. I thought I was intermediate but this gave me a confidence boost because I've played more complicated things than this. Thanks for the confidence booster, really needed this

from basket case to under the bridge is a loooong way

These songs have widely varying difficulty. Sweet chold of mine came from a string skipping practice routine and basket case is strumming power chords.

I have been a noob for a long time, but i know all these songs! You just made my day!

Sweet child o’ mine was the first song I learned on guitar, it was very hard at first but now I can play it with little effort

I wish you played under the bridge like John does, it adds a lot to the song

i can play these. been playing for 8 months. Having typing experience with keyboard helped me I think

Fade to Black is the first song I ever tried to teach myself

Under the bridge and fade to black are technically easy to play, but to play them well and with the right feel is much harder and something you'll always have to improve on

for beginners, learning albums from Green Day like Dookie and American Idiot can really help them understand barre chords since you’re playing them all over the fret board

I feel like the solo for Sweet Child O Mine is more advanced than intermediate.....atleast when compared to Green Day

Its said to be a grade 8 guitar piece in terms of technical skills, total grades are 12.

I first learned Basket Case when I was a beginner learning power chords and palm muting. It felt so good when when the day came that I was able to play it cleanly I think Billie Joe Armstrong plays the full chords when the song opens up but the power chords sound more or less the same too

I actually think sweet child of mine is a fantastic song to learn techniques for a beginner, the main riff is great for practicing string skipping, alternative picking and it gets you comfortable with the pentatonic scale, not my favorite GnR song by any means, but it’s really useful to learn

These were things I could play within 6 months of picking up the guitar. Also basket case is one of the most beginner songs ever lol. Though I never could play the rhcp song because I don’t care for them so why learn their music. And you wouldn’t catch me dead playing sweet child of mine, guns and roses is atrocious

Irony: Should be able to play Under the Bridge intro; but (during play through of the seventh bar) doesn’t play the slide (D3 to E3) at the end of the phrase. Decent try though, without a capo.

I’ve been playing for abt two years and can play Pineal Gland Optics up to 3:30 right now. I hope to finish learning it in a few weeks or so.

First song I ever learned was brain stew it’s a perfect beginner song. Basket case I haven’t learned it cuz in all honesty I think it’s overrated as hell there a lot of other Green Day songs I rather learn.

The last solo will actually take a lot of time if you have never played a metal solo before. I wouldn't recommend starting with it. Quickly gets frustrating lmao

I’d argue that the last solo is the perfect place to start learning metal soloing, it’s practically a lesson in how to play a pentatonic in various different ways. And to boot it sounds good 👌

I think it's more to do with building up the right hand stamina and technique for this tempo.

I wanna say it’s what you practice I guess. I can sweep pick and play some fast solos. But that’s what I primarily focus on, so I can play 80% of “hail to the king” from a7x, but I stumble playing hotel California because I don’t practice chord shapes at all. So I’m here sweet child of mine and under the bridge are the only songs I’d be good at, the others I’d have a fucking melt down

@@big.muscles.ohyeah same. When I started out there were solos I just couldn’t touch. Forgot about them, heard them a few years later, and played them like it was nothing. That being said sometimes I hear a solo, go back to it, and it’s still too hard

Another good one is Ten Years Gone by Led Zeppelin. Really gets you to learn to separate your playing from the down beat!
