Song of the Chanter (father/daughter duet) mandola + mandolin

Музыка

I convinced Liesl to sit down and play a tune with me. She chose this lovely march. No prep, no rehearsal, not even a discussion of arrangement. Red light and go.
Liesl: Eastman MD305 mandolin
Colin: Pomeroy mandola

You have raised some fine talent Colin. A rather mesmerizing tune.

Thanks so much! The sad thing is that as my girls get older and more fun to play music with, they are simultaneously getting too busy to play music with me!

I am not surprised at all by the talent, I am shocked that the little girl I remember from your house in Logan is a grown young lady! What a wonderful duet.

Very nice, indeed... spontaneity is at the heart of good music for both listener and player and this video captures a moment which simply "was". Perfect.

Absolutely wonderful, both of you! It sounded like you had that all planned out. Just heart-warming to see this.

So wonderful! And...about half-way through, daughter casts a sideways glance at father as if to say: "C'mon dad, your kinda holding me back." 😉

Well done! I know how hard it is to keep track of your playing when someone is playing a countermelody.
