This was most certainly eye opening. Thanks for the video! I’m reimagining my board and this is honestly wild. I went with the mc6 mkii. Looking forward to sorting things out. I often play 3-4 hour sets and have a few guitars to go between, fun problems for sure. This controlling a tonex, a chase bliss preamp mkii, and a gfi synesthesia will be so sick! Excited to quit tap dancing.

@@MorningstarEngineering I agree with GurrGurr. I wish you'd put out a video that is more friendly to new MIDI users, because I think you're assuming everyone who has one a Morningstar has a MIDI background. I am new to MIDI and got the MC8 to control my Neural Quad Cortex, Headrush Looperboard, and TC Helicon Voicelive. I've assigned each with their own MIDI channels 1-3, and I can't figure out how to get any of them to work, or the chronology to build Presets in Banks. Basically, I'd love to see a video where you're controlling a couple different devices and you walk though step-by-step building your Presets and Banks, top down, and then adding PC and CC commands in the Morningstar MIDI Editor....."Ugh!" I just feel like as a beginner, I can't figure out what the F I'm doing here, and I've gone through all of your videos at 4 times, and everything goes so fast, and "Why did he choose that arbitrary PC #?". So confusing. I have been at this for a week straight, and I'm about to bang my head into the wall for the 1000th time...Is there any video out there that can teach me how to use this durn thing? Thanks for a great video! So if I want more than one preset per song, that song needs it own bank correct? In the video song 1 triggered bank 21 I believe. In that case, I’m still limited to 32 songs because that’s how many banks I have. Correct? I love my Morningstar controllers but I play full time and it is really hard to fit all of my bands on 32 banks. Do you have any resources for the preset manager? Some of my banks would need to change depending on which band I’m with that night. I’d want to save them on my laptop and interchange them. Lastly, are there any plans to having more than 32 banks? Thanks again for making GREAT products and GREAT recourses!

Hi. There are 30 banks of 2 pages on the MC8. Press switches B+C to toggle between pages. That is a total of 480 presets that you can save. You can even add more presets if you connect external aux switches (as shown in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e415zNSzo8S5ksY.html). Yes you download your banks or the entire controller to your computer so you can swap banks and presets as you need for your gigs. Just click on the Controller Backup tab on the Morningstar Editor to do that. Cheers!

I own the newer MC8 and I couldn't ask for more programmable capabilities and functionality from a MIDI device of it's size. The one problem I have with the MC8 is the white background and black text screen, I would preferred the black background and white text for better readability like the one pictured here in this video. Not sure why the changed the screen maybe it was a supply/vendor issue.

The Quality Control reject rate of the previous black ones was getting too high and we could not continue to use them. We changed all our product photos to reflect this change in color as well. Since then we've also had some customers ask how they can change their black screens to white (and vice versa). I don’t know if can for example have each bank for a song and could change the bpm for the delay I’m going to use for the song but what if I want to play tremolo or other effect while playing with the delay and reverb can I just press it and the press it again to bypass the tremolo? O I need to setup that every time I play a tremolo the delay reverb stays playing?

Hi, thank you for that tutorial. However, i believe we can’t move up or down the songs presets or sections of a song, simply by pressing the same up or down switch. So our eyes need to be on the device each time we need to load a preset. It’s very inconvenient for singers who need to keep their mouth up to the mic. Program changes are limited in numbers and the names of the presets don’t update, so it’s not a workaround. Please do implement such a feature that could also be triggered from an auxiliary footswich freeing the switches of the MC5-6. Thank you.

@@MorningstarEngineering This doesn't look like what Fog upon LA is asking about (a feature I'd love to see too). I think what we're asking for is assigning a "increment preset" button, or an aux footswitch that banked up PRESETS, not just parameters within a preset (the manual implies this message scroll feature is only within a preset-please advise if that's wrong!). I'd love to build a setlist, presets 1-16, and just hit "next" on an aux switch, scrolling presets 1-16 sequentially. Heck, if it could jump to bank 2 and roll presets 17-25, that be AMAZEBALLS. Great pedal, though! Lots of programmability. Thanks for all the tutorials-MASSIVELY helpful!

Does this mean that if you need to dedicate a bank to one song you can only have 30 songs in your setlist? I would like to use an MC6 or MC8 with my HX Stomp mut since changing presets in the stomp also changes banks in the MC6 (or 8) I can only have control over 30 presets in the Stomp. I like to make a new preset in the Stomp for each song in my gigging setlist so this seems like a big limitation. This is an illogical way to scroll through set lists. We just need a song up and a song down switch. Why organize sets into clusters of 8 buttons ? (even less on the other Morningstar units!) This means you then also have to click in and out of the song every time you have to change patches! Another obvious point is what happens when you have 17 songs per set? This is far more complicated than it needs to be.
