Dear Mademoiselle Son, since I heard you by hazard on KZread and for the first time in my life -it was your breathtaking interpretation of Mozart's Piano Concerto at Tchaikovski Competition- since then I can hardly miss one day without listening to you, any piece you could possibly play! And since I was lucky enough to listen to you live last year in KKL Luzern in a very peculiar program of Viennese dances (not my cup of tea, but I loved them like gems composed, let's say, by Bach) since then I just hardly can bare not to see you live again! Your Beethoven's Fourth is a new treasure to enjoy and enjoy. Merci, Mademoiselle Son.

My favorite pianist playing my favorite concerto. From the wonderful performance of Yeol Eum I will highlight the one that for me is the most beautiful part of this concert: the brief but intense 2nd movement. 72 bars that would suffice to assure Beethoven of the everlasting glory. Yeol Eum interprets it as one might expect, as I expected it, with a serene and dreamy voice, sweetly conversing with the strong staccato of the strings in unison. With good reason Liszt compared this dialogue with Orpheus taming the Furies. In the end Yeol Eum, this wonderful daughter of Orpheus, achieves it with her sublime song (23:23) that in the last bar leaves the solitary tonic in E minor, ppp, floating in the air with unspeakable delicacy. I adore her!

Very sensibly written! I would add a personsl memory to your and Liszt's analysis of the second movement: My piano teacher, Geneva Conservatoire, seventies-eighties- Louis Hiltbrand, a genius in pedagogy and artistry (I always thought he could have made a stone sublimely play) was telling us this movement was like a first approach between a man and a woman. And, not necessary to tell you, with sublime examples on the old Blüthner of room 3!

After having listened to this twenty times in the past few days, I can see why it would be your favorite concerto. It is rapidly becoming mine. And the execution here is amazing. As is the videography and (mostly) the audio.

항상 베토벤 4번은 손열음에게 잘 어울릴 것 같다고 생각했는데, 역시나 베스트입니다.

Maestro Jung: You are the wind beneath the wing ... You are excellent! I share your joy while shaking hands with the phenomenon of our times, Mrs.Son!

If there was ever a performer who could take one to places rarely visited and leave them breathless every step of the way, from beginning to end, that performer to me is Miss Son Yeol-Eum -- and this performance is proof. This performance left me not only smiling from ear to ear but also clapping at the end -- something which I rarely do after non-live performances. It even had me recalling the meme 'What sorcery is this?' in the middle of it because Miss Son was once again doing the improbable if not the impossible, something that she never fails to do: Make me love whatever piece she's playing even more than I had before. Thank you, Miss Son, for this remarkable performance, and thank you also to the maestro and the orchestra for their beautiful accompaniment. And thank you, TV예술무대, for sharing this gift with us. ^^

One of my favourite piano concertos, played to perfection (especially the main cadenza) by one of my favourite pianists: I can stand any amount of CoViD Lockdown as long as I can watch YES every day. Bless you for making an old man very Happy 😉

The brilliant and clear piano sound reminds me of Mozart: Yeol Eum Son's Beethoven Piano Concerto No.4 performance is the most Mozartian Beethoven. The orchestra sound especially of second movement sounds kind of buzzing, but it is good as it is. Her performance of Beethoven's own cadenza in both the first and third movements included the meaning of commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of the great composer, I think.

모차르트 스페셜리스트 손열음님의 평창페스티벌에서 베토벤 협주곡4번 G장조의 폐막 연주는 아주 훌륭했다. 오케스트라도 국내연주로는 아주 훌륭했고,특히,4번 협주곡의 신비 에 싸여있는 마법을 지혜롭게 잘 풀어나갔어요. 손열음님이 베토벤250주년 특집 으로 음악감독을 맡았기에,베토벤 에 대한 많은 생각과 연구와 고민이 있었던 것으로 보이며,연주하기 쉽 지않은 4번G장조협주곡을 아주 훌륭히 연주하였네요? 축하합니다.

제가 30년 전에 빌헬름 캠프의 베토벤전곡음반을 처음 구입해서 저녁에 전축을 틀어서 매일 조금씩 들었답니다. 존경하는 손열음Piano아티스트님 께서 빌헬름 캠프,알프레드 브렌델 의 뒤를 이은 베토벤음반이 탄생해 서, 수많은 학생들과 청소년들에게 정서적 안식처가 되고,희망과 기쁨 을 주시길 기도합니다. 꿈Dream과 희망을 잃어가는 세대 에 Beethoven으로 다시 기쁨과 환희를 청년들이 되찾을 수 있기를 바랍니다. 손열음 아티스트님!! 화이팅하세요? ♡♡♡

Listening to and watching Yeol Eum Son play is one of the greatest pleasures in life! Superb orchestra and conductor here too. Bravo!

This performance of this work by this performer occurred some two years before she did it again in Germany, which performance I heard FIRST on this medium...and this 2020 performance only now. Both are stellar. It helps that she has a superlative piece to play, which I cannot hear enough. It also helps that the orchestra and director are equally superlative. Let's call it Talent to the power of four! Many thanks! JAT ❤😊
