I can't be the only one who finds this song weirdly terrifiying. It's as if there is something alien about it, out of this world, unknown yet strangely familiar and beautiful. Love it.

LYRICS: It's an impossible dream but you realise You're not waking up Watch as the silence and protest fails us Higher than reason and brighter than light Gravity no longer wins It's an impossible thought, so you theorise This is what the resurrection feels like From the other side It's an improbable scheme but we're towed along And no one inquires Can we be this ugly and still have a beautiful life Be a beautiful wife? 'Cause I'm a believer but I'm not a fool Is this what the resurrection feels like? Is this just what the resurrection feels like From the other side, from the other side, from the other side? Is this what the resurrection feels like? Is this just what the resurrection feels like From the other side, from the other side, from the other side? Out of the darker day and into the brighter night From the other side, from the other side Out of the darker day and into the brighter night Is this what the resurrection feels like? Is this what the resurrection feels like From the other side, from the other side, from the other side? The lighter the friction, the louder the sound We'll all hear the roar when the walls hit the ground

this whole album just brings my sadness into form. it makes me cry while I think about how hard being human is. how hard it is to try every single day. no matter how hard I try to find how resurrection feels like, the opposite feels like an answer. yet, this album always comes back in my darkest times, helping through it all, i can't put in into words but this album is one of the greatest treasure i've stumbled upon.

this song is un-fucking-real. I'm so floored by the presentation and content that, honestly... I don't even want to know what the fuck Ryan is singing about anymore. These lyrics are at once so terrifying and so unbelievable it's... I don't want to be on this level of thought. This is too much. But also impossible to ignore. Such a stand-out closing track, and that Weapons reprise is the little extra nudge - it makes me feel like maybe there's something to the entire discography as a whole. I don't know. Heavy, though. Good closer for sure.

Oh god. Yes. I feel you. I feel every word you say. For me the whole album is pain and rebirth, transformation, “out of the dark days and into the bright light” (from ‘Dream State’ and this song) - Song: Forty Screams First song in the album. It is the beginning of our journey in self-healing. It is self doubt, fear, hopelessness, facing where we are at and not knowing if you can make it past this journey. “Is this the future standing over me? Will it grow? What can rise from such a seed?” Our seed is so corrupted... we are so broken.. will anything even be able to grow out of it? But we can’t just stay here because we “can’t bare another day like this” and we “had wanted a better world for [ourselves]”. We are a “young ghost in an old body”. Our young ghost cannot bare this old body. It’s time to leave this old body and find ourselves a new one. (Why ghost? Because all these ‘forty screams’ - the pain - has faded us, killed us) Song: All Directions It’s in the middle of the album - the middle of our journey in life in healing. We actually open up our trauma and really face it and in the process get thrown in ‘all directions’. The soundscape is very much aggressive loud intrusive drums. It is throbbing pain, rocking, banging, clacking, quaking, cocooning, breaking. We have a realisation after all this. We realise that “this heart is for the wrecking but leave it up me” - our heart has been shaped to want wrecking. Our trauma made us look for scenarios where we retraumatize ourselves. We are causing our own breakage (“leave it up to me”) and we realise we’ve been carrying all this pain and letting it destroy us. Song: Aquatic Now that we’ve faced the pain and processed it. It’s time to leave our rigid ways for “we may all begin aquatic.” Be like water. Flexible and adaptable once more - not a prisoner to our trauma. It’s “time to quit the race, to carry nothing forward, we owe to ourselves to bury it and leave it quaking in the earth”. It won’t be quaking in our body anymore like it did before, but in the earth where we will bury it. Where we will leave it. We then can grow. “You won’t find me where I fall”. Because we will be getting up and moving forward. This song: “Gravity no longer wins” we’ve let go of our weight we can float now. “It’s an impossible thought so you theorize ‘is this what the resurrection feels like from the other side?’” We’re like wtf how can gravity not exist... it must be that we are being resurrected.. we suspect It doesn’t just talk of a rebirth, but it gives you an experience of a birth. If you give in and really let the waves of music carry you, you’ll feel it at 2:08 you are approaching it, “the other side”. Hear the beats and how they give you that feeling you get as you’re climbing to the top of a rollarcoaster. Anticipation. 2:28 is the tension. Getting close and feeling the pull. You’re shuddering from the power of it. 2:56 is a shift. The key changes as he sings. It’s wonder. Curiosity. You’re looking around and asking? Is this it? You’re realizing it is at 3:15. And the full CATHARSIS is at 3:18 on the word “side”. That’s when you BOOOSH wash into the other side! It’s so beautiful. 3:37 we’re finally “out of the dark days and into the bright light”. We are finally out and things are beautiful again. Before we actually see the side we experience utter joy at having made it - 3:44-4:04 - OMG WE ARE HERE that swell is the joy of having made it. And sudden collapse 4:09-4:10. The short feeling of joy of making it is now over. Now you are on the other side and you’re feeling it for real. You’re present to it. Like woah wtf this is weird and alien and new and different. And you’re taken aback 4:22-5:02 you’re just letting it sink in. They leave us with a msg that “We all hear the roar when the walls hit the ground”. It’s over the walls are down. And we all heard it. - In summary we start with doubt and hopeless. We release all the fears and doubts when we scream our ‘forty screams’. We are now prepared for our journey. We face the pain head on and get pulled in ‘All Directions’. Then go back to our ‘Aquatic’ state are no longer rigid but adaptable soft selves, the ones in the photos we spoke about in ‘Dream State’ (how do we feel in that photograph, how do we feel it again - now we feel it again). Now that we flow again we become ‘Resurrected’. - Placing it at the end of a track is genius. You go through a journey, you are reborn at the end. It’s at the end of the track. It’s over. Now you’re on your own. You’re let free into the world. You’re fresh and can do whatever and go wherever

I feel your pain, friend. I've been a listener of Son Lux since 2015, and it feels intrusive to have people introduced on an undesirable condition. It doesnt feel... deserved. But rejoice! This means that some, at LEAST some will come to enjoy Son Lux for the way we do, this magical music will improve the lives of others. Not all echoes are bad. So once the time of "im here from (---) show" ends, there will be those left behind to enjoy this art on its own merits.
