Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Virtual Choir The Young Americans Alumni

Alumni of The Young Americans got together virtually to sing one of their most beloved choral arrangements by the groups founder Milton Anderson. This time has been difficult for so many in our world, and we have found music to be a way for us to connect and share joy when we can't be together physically. The 131 people in this video are from all across the world and are alumni from the 1960's through 2019. A huge thank you to each and every one of them who submitted a video. I love you all!

we used a couple different things to start, we ended with Final Cut Pro X as it had the best processing and capabilities. Davinci might* be capable but I don't know yet... we are trialing it right now. We'll be doing a blog on our website and posting the video here as well. Please subscribe to stay up to date and we'll post that tutorial when we finish it here in the next week or two.

So this was a process for us... this started off in Adobe where we edited this (Missy & Robbie) but ran into issues after just 60 videos for processing... we upgraded to a new iMac & tried again but adobe failed again on their processing of video. We switched to Final Cut Pro x (90 day trial right now) & it was like butter to edit/resize/drag & drop/transition/etc, we had some learning curve on FCPX and had to figure out using compound clips along with some tips from Joe Dull (SHOUT OUT THANKS!!!) and Missy spent some good hours editing audio lining up tracks (that was easier based on the initial track beep) but balancing audio was a lot of work to hear everyone. Missy is writing an instructional blog & vlog how to do it, it’s become a popular question & answer session for sure! Please like/subscribe to support our KZread channel!
