That wonderful Wild West set was badly packed; rigid box required. As someone who also buys stuff on eBay etc that is something that always winds me up when they happily take your money for something that obviously need protecting then don't pack it properly. More so with international shipping.

@@toysoldiernostalgia No, just landing the fishing line that the model slid down on was about 60+ feet long. I would just give a little tug on the control stick, and the model would release and start its descent down the line. It was really cool to fly my own hand built models. I see you are into what I used to call army sets I begged my mother for months for a MARX Desert Fox set and ended up getting it for my birthday around 1970 probably because she was sick of listening to me. The set was huge there were tanks, planes, jeeps, cannons, barbed wire, tents, and all kinds of cool military equipment. I played with that set on the side of the house for a long time. There are probably still parts buried in the dirt to this day.

Right on the box! Bench, Goalpost. Looks like you are missing the Balls though. Took me years to find a set, paid a ridiculous amount for them. For a time I sought other figures that I felt were equally well sculpted, like Kellogg premium figures, and others I found to add. If you do a Google search for images you will see there are many nice figures. I have enough verity that I could set up a good tournament with a number of teams each having different poses. You will find the Timpo guys are just a tick taller than Airfix.

Like you - I loved these items when I was a kid in the 70s and still have my 70s collection of Airfix and Marchbox 1/32 scale army men. I am VERY jealous of the collection you have put together. Have you given any thought to putting the cost of what you paid for each item that arrives ? Occasionally you will mention it on the odd item but I am interested in the cost of each. Perhaps a table at the end of the video showing cost, postage, total cost would be a neat way to manage it. Please keep putting these videos out - love your work. Greg from Australia. Yup -- I did a little looking around online, and that is indeed the engine and cars from the Bachmann train set, though I don't think Bachmann ever did one with the "exploding" feature. I also had that one in the 1980s -- Christmas 1985, if I'm remembering correctly. Apparently the Wild West set was the first train set they did, and the "Dr. X" set, which was slightly later, had Airfix's own trains.

Almost certainly these were made by the same HongKong Kader toy company as Bachmann. Just for this shared US outline locomotive and rolling stock. All other Airfix trains after that were ordered by Airfix to UK outline trains. The US style locomotive and set were not too popular and we're removed from the Airfix line after a year or two. Some 1980s Airfix tooling still for sale by Hornby in improved form. All UK railways designs.

Never seen the Action Packs footballers before - rather nice! Looks like you have enough for one team, as opposed to two with Airfix. I note the team shown is Scotland, so I wonder if they produced boxes with different teams pictured…? Regarding the train, when they came out in 1977 or thereabouts there was a competition in TV Times magazine (coincided with the new Just William series) where this and the modern set were prizes. I entered but they never published the results, so for years thought it was a con until somebody on the Miniatures Page posted that he had won the Wild West set in that very competition. Too many memories on this channel. 😂
