Although the director tried to show ryo as the true love interest of tohru. But actually ryo isn't like that what we have shown in this series. He do have a kind of flirty nature towards girls like tohru. He also knows well how to attract a girl like tohru but he says that he don't know how he can patch up with people in society. Ryo isn't the most calm person as he is shown, the reason he is always calm is bcz no soma behaves rudely with him in fact ryo always talk rudely with kyo with no reason shows his arrogance, kyo does the same to ryo not bcz he is arrogant but he is frustrated of the ignorance for him among soma for his cat zodiac spirit and he is often considered inferior if compared to ryo. Ryo isn't kind, he just talks calmly with tohru nothing else, kyo isn't so calm while talking to anyone including tohru bcz of his frustration and anger for the ignorance and dis among the somas, while ryo haven't faced these things in his life. THIS WAS SOO GOOD! You put so much work into it, it's amazing you did amazing!

i started watching fruits basket just thinking its a lighthearted anime and i wouldnt have watched it when i havent seen an amv where haru and rin had a 5 sec talk where i was thinking "oh thats kinda deep?" and i know that fruits basket first animation wasnt fully finished so i was getting curious and omg. I DID NOT EXPECT THAT. it was very good. could be hilariously funny or very emotional and it makes u think about certain things. and wow some character developements really hit me hard. i also actually liked kyo and tohrus relationship developemt which i first didnt expect to be that entertaining when there wasnt a lot a lot of lovely dovely scenes u know. bro the end was so whoelsome too i just can't. AT WHOEVER THINGS THIS ANIME ISNT REALLY WORTH WATCHIGN BC IT MAY BE TOO LIGHTHEARTED OMG NOO YOU#RE DOING A MISTAKE. WATCH IT NOW. (adults probably would enjoy it better than younger people i always think)

Yeaaa I shipped yuki and tohru (but wouldnt completely mind her and kyo) and was very sure it was going that direction...that’s why I was confused on why ppl loved kyo so much. then my cousin spoiled that she ends up with kyo. It took me many episodes to finally process that fact and accept that kyo is endgame. Whelp gotta force myself to accept it anyways. Luckily they made it easy for me to let go of yuki and tohru by introducing the whole mum thing, I really was terrified of having to watch a heart broken yuki. He was already holding too much trauma.

@@lucia2715 No problem! I have watched and read many manga and anime and that is one that I would say that compares to Fruits Basket in the sense of the pace in romance. It's hard to find a good shoujo anime after watching Fruits Basket since the relationship of Kyo and Tohru shifts so perfectly from strangers, to friends, to something more. You can see the characters development through it all. It is extremely rare in anime, but Kimi ni Todoke is just as amazing.
