They are hero vets really. Some vets in our area would not treat a wild animal or stray unless it had an owner. Sad.

Here's the scenario I imagine: This cat is so beautiful! It was someone's pet from a young age and perhaps was about to be a first-time mother. The owner didn't know, or did know, and expected things to go smoothly. When they didn't, and the poor cat was suffering with an undelivered baby caught in her birth canal, the owner freaked out, knew he/she couldn't pay for care, so carefully put her in a box and left her at your doorstep. In his/her own way, the owner tried to get help, and you guys stepped up and got busy. It's wonderful that you were able to save the mama cat and one baby. That cat is just gorgeous! I feel bad for the owner, who must have been heart-broken. You guys have never appeared on my KZread feed before. I don't know where you live, but the two of you are vets, right? You look like you are twins. Thanks for sharing this interesting, but also very poignant, story!

Pet your girlie for me, please? And her kittens, as I expect she's had them by now. I was crying at this, too. I think the last time I cried was when I lost my dad.

So she only had 3 kittens, 1 was deceased inside her, 2 were removed alive, but only 1 made it? Poor mama, as she knows her losses. And such a gentle soul to let everyone take care of her like that without protest. I have one expectant mama cat outside whom I've been feeding, but she hasn't been around in 2-3 days, and I'm thinking maybe she gave birth and can't make extended trips here for food, so I'm worried about her and the kittens. I hope nothing bad happened to any of them.

@@jacqueykoo517 Did. She always would hide in or behind giant tomato-planters in the backyard, or in the styrene-foam cooler "igloo" I made for outside critters, never out in the open. She also knew that I always put out food for her, but never showed when I left some outside just in case she'd only go looking for food and spending time with the kittens the rest of the time.

@@ninademci1500 My #4 was a lone kitten, no mama or siblings to be found, but yelling his head off from hunger for 2-3 nights straight until the lady down the block lured him out, caught him, and gave him to me. How he got separated or where they all went, to this day I have no idea. That's why I'm especially worried for these.

I just had the same thing happen. Heard the kittens and found them barely dry in sub freezing temps. Got food and water for momma and she came back to care for them. I feed her daily so she doesn’t need to look for food. All 4 babies are doing well.

The cat wasn't mistreated imo. The way that they handled the problems during labor was lacking but I don't think that they did so with malice. I think that they put the cat at the clinic so she could get help but they probably could not pay for it so did not alert them to her need. That is the greatest fault, but while I don't agree with them doing so I understand it. Not having the money to take care of the medical emergencies breaks a person's heart.

Bless you, sir! I was a preschooler when I lost a cat to a stillborn stuck in the birth canal. She died under my mother car, and I crawled under to be with her -- much to my mother's upset. She birthed one kitten who died shortly afterward. There was no KMR back in the "dark ages."

She definitely has a good soul, and sooooo young a mama. Those babies were big looks like they were over due, that can present a major delivery problem and bless the veterinarian for quick response to her life threatening need.
