Thanks brother this is one of the reasons fueling animosity mostly towards Zimbos and Naijas more than any other immigrants. It's the same attitude that sets other people off

South africans don't hate zimbabweans, we're just fed up with them. Its like taking in a family member because they're down on their luck but the family member enjoys your house so much that now he refuses to leave. Now finaces are tight in the house, so obviously at some point the family is gonna get irritated having to share their beds with a guest who feels this entitled. There are limits to charity, at some point we all have stand on our own two feet.

@@vodlozamws2 It's not like at all , the reason Zimbabwean's are on the spot light is because they are so vocal and so entitled yet when it comes to issues that matter were their country is concerned they run , that guy who was saying he's not going anywhere if he has so much drive and fighting spirit wouldn't serve him and his country well to have people like him to change and challenge their government and fight for their human rights ?

Not even close to us hey. Let them go to their closest neighbors, for a change. We have hosted them for some time now. Do you know we are amongst the few countries that treat foreigners like human beings. They were treated better than their home countries. Allowed to do everything, until they started disrespecting us, the laws of our country and worse disrespecting eg SA labour laws that most our people were arrested and others died for them to be finally adopted. What did they do, they were conniving with the law breakers, and not only that in relation to labour issues, they were saying hurtful things about us SAns, knowing quite well that they were benefitting work wise because they're cheap labour. They publicly displayed their extreme hate for SA and its people, by telling lies to the world. Actually I don't know what we're we expecting from them, coz they were and still lie about their country, only for pity as they thrive on the poor me syndrome. They did all these things forgetting that SAns are fighters, and they are voters who know their rights, eg Politicians are our PAs, we make them do what we want, not the other way. They might try to be diplomatic but when it's closer to the polls they tore the line. At the end they know who put them there. We won't have that nonsense of a Politicians being in office for donkey years, never not here. As it is we are tired of these pensioners in parliament and you wait and see and learn. We don't play hey.

Self-serving politicians are a pandemic. Now Zim people are scattered all over and causing problems for other countries. South Africa is loud about it but even here in Botswana it's a situation. They are everywhere, some getting involved all sorts of unecessary crimes.

Run businesses and don't pay tax. Commit crime then disappear back home or South Africa or any neighbouring country. Resources are strained. It's hectic. Very much so.

Mostly it's because most Zimbabweans haven't invested anything back home, to return back and start a life after many years outside Zimbabwe will not guarantee success.

@@tutotutot5193 My point is Shonas, Malawians, Ndebeles, etc where at some point mistreated in Zimbabwe. So to isolate any ethnic group as sole victims would be an understatement. One point to note also is that most of these projects of mistreatment were organized and oconducted by the government and not the citizens, unlike what you have down there were citizens hunt and kill foreigners. Whenever that happened here, I will bet it had government's hand. So its unfair on Zimbabweans to say we mistreated so and so because the government never sought any approval from its citizens.

I am saying lets not have a short memory. i dont condone what south africans are doing, its just amazing how things have turned around though and who knows its not going well for south african economy already. as in the clip zimbabweans are not going anywhere just like malawians own Harare and havent gone home. its just history repeating itself. Zim arrested illegal Malawians last week sentenced them to six months suspended for deportation. Where is colour in that regard. So colour applies to SA? Tell Botswana about colour. They arrest and deport illegals. Which country will allow influx of illegals. Zep has termination date and we do not want them renewed because there is no special skills about them. Zims must just build their country- always running imposing themselves. They are arrogant without national pride- I have never seen such a thing

I’m so tired of defending them, everytime they speak up they sound so entitled, arrogant and ungrateful. Atleast they should humble themselves and try to do things lawfully... that’s all South Africans want. But what they doing now is instigating more xenophobia.

Our government needs to do something about this arrogance. I really love our constitution but we really need a strong government to lead our country. With more than 22 universities and so many FET colleges, why do we still need alot of teachers and nurses and semi skilled laborers? No offense to migrants but our government needs to channel students to doing studies in areas that are scarce (scarce and critical skills). We have invested alot in our higher education, it's really absurd that we are allowing these cowards from their own countries to come and dictate terms for us.

@@Deontjie that's why I stressed a point that we need a strong government that will prioritize skills development and higher education. It's utter nonsense that we are still using foreign companies for mechanical engineering/repairs with every district having an FET college that can produce artisans and so many universities to produce professionals. Talking about a case of feeding everyone you meet with your kids and wife dying of hunger.
