I have a pawn shop by me that checks prices before selling and it just seems like a terrible way to do business. Like I don't want to wait for you to handle every other customer just to tell me the price of a game which will probably be too high anyway. Considering what they pay for these games when they get brought in you would think it would be better for everyone to just price it when you put it out and not worry about it or at least do a weekly inventory so the prices are listed on the game.

Yeah I agree, and most of the time they will ask for ebay value or above, and if I wanted to pay eBay prices I'd just buy it off of eBay. I understand trying to stay in business, but sometimes these places just charge too much

@@aidetund6263 I hate hearing anyone cite ebay prices in person, If you are pricing based on ebay you should factor in the shipping and fees and discount that off the price since in the end we all win in that situation.

The power adapter they were using for that Switch probably wasn't good enough to get it turned on from completely dead. It probably needed the OEM brick.

I use my phone charger every now and then if I have it in handheld and I'm not near the dock or I'm on the go, so idk guess it depends on the brick

Was going to say the same thing. I've used many adapters for the Switch systems, and alot of them don't work. Best to use the original adapter (which it should include anyway!)...

Always enjoy your videos ... whilst i was watching this i saw the pokeman games so paused video and rang my nephew ... his mum answered and i casually asked 'did you keep all the pokemon games?' to which they answered 'yes all boxed with booklets'. After i got up from my dead faint i said you may want to get them looked at!!! So ty in advance 💙❤💜

in my experience , the og switch would not charge up on anything that wasnt the official charger. ive tried using reg usb c on different adapters, and at best they keep the battery percentage at the same level while plugged in, no charging done. im guessing thats what happened there, the switch was dead, and not receiving enough power to charge. bet you it works fine

My switch charges fine using my phone charger, because sometimes I'm just not near the dock and I want to charge it so I use my phone charger. Probably depends on the charger

It's the charger, not the Switch. My Switch charges fine on other USB-C chargers. Get a better charger.

I recently discovered a new retro game store in my area, kind of flew under my radar, and they are pretty cool. They also specialize in repairs, they were originally just a computer repair store before also selling games, and they have some pretty cool stuff

In the last week I have found your channel, realized you live the same place I'm from, and vaguely saw my house in a video, then realized you're the reason Game Exchange next to La Taquiza never has anything good anymore. It's a weird feeling lol. Check out La Taquiza though they arguably are the best local Lexington-only restaurant.

I really miss Disc Replay here in Lex. It was a regular stop for me. And then it was just gone one day. I haven't really found anyplace since that had quite the amount of inventory that they had.

Generally, that's their last "new" copy. Drives me nuts, especially when I order from GS online and receive an opened game. As a result, I no longer buy games from GS that are really cheap or being clearanced out.

We have Entertainmart in Utah, which is the same company as vintage stock, they have some great deals if you go often. Especially DS and PS3/PS2 games

I just recently have been going to super mega replay play often and am very pleased with the selection.

Related to the odd Wii sports pricing , my disk replay in iowa has its pricing all over the place , convinced the employees just use their best judgement and throw a price , bough a new 3ds xl for 119 and multiple $25+ games for like under 10

always keep an eye out for the light and dark traps. there are a few imaginator crystals that are worth 50 or so. the ones that came in the expansion sets. usually they slip by pawn shops radar. blackout and sunspot for trap team are also 100 each. i had both in my hand for 7 dollars each at ebgames like 5 years ago. figured i would grab them later. boy the regret i have now. i also see a couple of burn cycles for super chargers. that is the last i need to complete that set. i can never find it in the wild. and that is the only time i will buy them.

That disc replay that popped up on screen is the one I go too in Illinois

If your in the Illinois area, go to the disc replay in orland park, then drive to highland Indiana. Those disc replays are bussin.

I never see sealed switch games on Australia, even pre orders that are put straight out the back without storing the cartridge elsewhere. But I've bought a couple of the Asia region exclusives, they always come sealed, and a few UK/EU games have come sealed too.

Back in the day vintage stock used to be awesome. Circa 2007ish. After a while it fell into the same trap as gamestop and other stores did. It became super corporate. They dropped the buy in prices to nothing. Then started charging primo prices for stuff. What made all of this worse is, when the gaming market exploded. They doubled/ tripled prices on used games.

I know its late, but can confirm raising canes has been in CA and AZ for many years, so it's not exclusively regional

We have vintage stocks out here and they are pretty terrible so im glad you agreed. Cartridge games never work. Overpriced disc games. Sign on the door that says we do repairs but then everything i ask about they can't do it. Always having bad experiences there.

The Disc Replays in Illinois are the best. Think I've seen one Mega Replay, never ever heard of a Super Mega Replay

Right at the start and I'd get lost looking at all the Funko Pops. Just a quick tip for DVD if you see Mary Kate and Ashley DVDs look it up they sell really well. Also non mainstream horror movies can have value.

Solid fast food tier list for the most part. I enjoy both Taco Bell and White Castle for what they are, but they aren’t exactly high class. No fast food place is. Fazoli’s is pretty great though. They are just starting to open up again in Florida, so hopefully one will open near me soon.

This is my hometown! Probably my most visited store in town. If you happen to come back to Evansville, check out Secret Headquarters as well! Not as big selection but still high grade selection and more emphasis on retro gaming. (Also have an arcade)!

The switch lite probably worked, but the cable they were using looked like a standard phone charger. I've had my switch take 30 minutes to power on using an official one when it's completely dead.

In Australia the majority of switch games come without plastic wrapping because they don’t want to add to the plastics wastage like most companies do.

In Australia a lot of places open up the new games.

I traded a Switch Lite (Blue) for a copy of Metroid Dread (Collectors/Sealed) and a Switch Pro Controller last night.

aye stl i see you went to v stock in west county mall that one just recently opened there's another in south county mall thats been there for about a decade maybe and is way bigger they usually have just about everything priced up unfortunately but anyways crazy you were in stl where im from and in west county just a few minutes away from where i stay

That laugh :D lol btw, the reason shops I know they take off the shrink wrap is because they take the game out and keep it behind the counter to prevent theft

From my experience with trying to sell new unopened games, some game stores won't accept games that are still wrapped, in the case that they could be "stolen". So they have to be opened first before they can buy them, in that case I guess they would be still considered "new". But how would a buyer know that am I right? I don't like it one bit lol

The one if I had to get for possible future profit would have been that NES Zelda the gold cartridge. Forgive I don't know Zelda titles. But watching Retro Rick that is a game with some good vaule and if you could get a nice enough looking one you might be able to trade that with someone or add to a bundle set to make a little money on such as a console or other games.

GameStop does the “NEW” stock without the plastic. I had a whole conversation with the employee on duty. It was a dumb conversation. They do it so the case and art are shown but the game isn’t there to be stolen… in plastic, people would just stealing.

Vintage Stock is the worst chain out there. You won’t be able to buy many things there that aren’t already at over resale price. Every now and then something slips through, but the only thing you can consistently make profit on if you put the hours in is going through their magic cards. Also they have no return policy for things that don’t work. If you press them enough they will do a return but only for store credit. To get your money back you would have to do a chargeback on them. They are utter trash and should be avoided at all costs. Another thing is they constantly take in counterfeit games so you would have to be very careful in what you buy there that’s cartridge-based.

You can get those Shield and Sword Switch lites go for 200 in my area and on Mercari. 200-250

Yeah Vintage Stock near me are pretty cool workers but the prices are near ESRP used so not worth flipping but worth a check for collections tho.

Sometimes, if a switch battery is completely dead then It could take an hour or more before it will turn on. I found that out through stressful personal experience lol.

I’m pretty sure that the disc replay by me has been found out. For a few years with their DVD area, it was all hidden gem horror movies. They do crazy deals like buy three DVDs for $3.33 and get three for free. I’ve come across some B list horror movies with limited releases were $30-$40 apiece unless they haven’t gotten my chin in a while it seems like they get cleaned out and I’m pretty regular basis now. Like anything else as long as you do your research, there is a lot of money to be made and DVDs.

When I got my switch from GameStop the bundle copy of mario odyssey was not sealed, and yeah, it kinda sucks to pay full price for used goods.
