Some trick and tips for cutting holes in the lid of my container. (Part 2/3)

Ойын-сауық

Hope this helps someone out there. These are some of the tricks and tips I used on making my container. I ended up putting lettuce in this container and it was a bit crowded so i think next time i will only put 6 holes but I'm not sure.

Hi. This would have been a very useful video if you left all the tidbits for later and got to the crux of the video which is to show how you actually cut the plastic without cracking it. I don't think very many people are looking to cut holes in plastic for the same reasons you do. Ok, box cutter, razorblade sharp. Got it! Finally. I would have started video with that boxcutter as a necessary item for this DIY.

Thanks for the encouragement :) No idea why so many dislikes. Maybe has to do with to many parts or maybe the # of times I say umm :) like a noob. Maybe because I did not use a hole saw. Who knows. I'm fine with it :) Only 13 dislikes for 2779 views I will take that every time :) I had no idea that it had so many dislikes but my videos are not top quality and I know it. I do the best I can do and most people are happy with that :) The other normally leave :) But thank you for your encouragement! It is nice to have someone stop by and tell me to keep on going :) My community is GREAT! They support me through thick and thin. I subbed to your channel. I really liked your intro video. It is all about being yourself and being special :) Thank you!! You brightened my day :)

I used a rail compass with a wood ruler. one side had the pint to center - the other was adapted to hole a sharpened finishing nail I cut the hole half way from the front and then from the back - you get a perfect hole - tears in the holes would rip in the heat of the sun...

I tried this a long time ago and was too inefficient. I also tried melting a circle with a soldering iron instead of buying a hole saw but was also too slow. However, probably more accurate and faster than cutting a hole. I will probably have to invest in a hole saw.

Yes I don't make that many but i broke down and bought a 18 piece hole saw from harbor freight for less than $20. Says it works with wood and plastic. Looked up the one I bought and it is $16.99 but I feel wherever you buy it they are worth the money. Also get the hole saw started then reverse the drill and it cuts through it much smoother with less clean up :) Thanks for stopping by :)

Awesome mate ,everyone needs to accept it as a basic guide(hence tips and tricks) instead of a "I DO THIS NOT THAT,YOU SHOULD'VE DONE THIS NOT THAT"make your own video if that's the case.Just remember no matter how good you are, SOMEONE out there won't think so.

Flip the net cup over, follow the edge with a felt tip. This isn't rocket science, if you accidentaly put a hole 1/4 inch off from the others, the plants won't know or care. Less OCD.... and an actual video where you CUT the lid!
