I am a 68-year-old lady who lives in the south of the United States and a small town in the country and I get so much enjoyment out of watching you puttering around in your garden and showing us your beautiful home and the beautiful clothes because I love fashion and I love clothes, I love it when you refer to your hubby as Mr. Millen Gordon I think that’s so adorable. its probably too late. But Lydia herringbone flooring is one of the most timeless things you can do. It's VERY expensive to do that's why you don't see it often. but it's been around for centuries. It's absolutely beautiful. Definitely not trendy. :)

The bookcase is perfect Lydia. As you said do not leave it in the house when you move. Would you consider putting armchairs in front of it now instead of a sofa so that some of the bottom of the bookcase can be seen. It really is gorgeous.

Why is it surprising? A lot of these high price point clothes are the same materials used for lower price point clothing - its only the name tag (that's tucked inside the clothes which nobody sees) that you are paying highly for....!

Lydia your style is so timeless and classic, you're definitely an inspiration! I think this Oscar de la Renta dress isn't timeless at all. You're a gourgeous women and this dress doesn't deserve you to wear it.

Not crazy about the floral dress. I am sure you have something far nicer in your wardrobe that you could draw on.

Try moving the two chairs in from of the new bookcase. Couch hides it too much. Just a thought.

The Oscar DL dress is pretty but because it’s so fitted all the way down to the lower stomach and then it puffs out there, it just gives a big bubble gut effect. And it’s not fitted enough at the top to balance the bottom out! If it fluffed out at the waist line it would be pretty but because it doesn’t go out until the lower stomach, it creates a very unflattering silhouette that I can’t imagine is flattering on any body shape!

Wow! The bookcase and art truly did COMPLETE the room! And the lily silk dress is so beautiful and that white skirt is perfect on you. Love love

Love the bookcases and I agree to put the chairs in front if it and not the sofa covering it? Over the dark walls in there now and hope to see a lighter paint color since the room is so dark without lights on? Yes artwork or wall decor should be eye level - most people hang things too high does depend if you hang something over something talk like a fireplace mantel etc.

Love, love the natural design of the spring garden. Just a note about hanging pictures. Yes, they are to be hung eye height in a gallery where you are standing. However, in a room where you are generally sitting, they look better hung lower because your eye height is lower when sitting. I personally think they look too high over the sofa and would prefer them to be hung lower. Cannot wait to see the colour you choose for the walls.

Hi Lydia, I really enjoy your style and fashion sense but the Oscar dress is extremely busy and takes away from you and your beauty. All you see is a big dress with flowers coming towards you but you do not see the person. Also, I agree with others that the equestrian picture would be a better fit for the wall behind the sofa. It looks more modern, clean and elegant. The other two makes the room look dated. I do love your new lilly silk collection. It is both beautiful and elegant. Congrats!!

I also love how you’re always open to what your followers think and yet you still maintain what is true to you. I am happy that you are in love with that Oscar DL dress and I do agree that the pattern is beautiful but I will say it hides your figure and did not complement your natural beauty. If you alter it I find you may have to alter not only the torso part but even the way it hangs on your shoulder it didn’t seem flattering it looked very boxy. You know how to get the right alterations in order for your clothes to fit you perfectly so I know if you really love this dress you will make it work! Keep shining beautiful!✨

I think a massive vintage tapestry of a pastoral scene would look incredible on your large lounge room wall, rather than framed art. Especially once the walls are painted a muddy soft green. It will also soften the room texturally and add to sound buffering. I’ve noticed this is becoming quite the thing to do with a lot of influencers in grand homes in America and Britain so you’d have to be quite savvy in sourcing one.

No doubt about it, the Oscar dl dress is lovely but it's no this time. I wish I could remember the beautiful floor length dress you had from a few years back. It was Italian stunning floral and you looked out of this world but I never saw you in it. It was stunning and fitted you perfectly. 💃

paintings a half-foot lower. it all is about placement as well, the couch being there... means they should actually sit a bit lower. the scale of the works might be off as well.. the art usually tells you where it needs to go.
