As brazilian that just had an insane president (Bolsonaro) i feel your pain. We were able to convict him for electoral crimes so he can"t run for 8 years now, which is great. I can"t think how I would feel if he was not punished and got so much more power. It's absurd.

I can't believe I am watching this country go down. As a female losing roe v wade was a gut punch. This is another punch and it's hard to keep going ans fighting but we have to.

@saintdonoghue yes!! That is just insane!!! I can't believe people are not seeing all that is about and just ignoring it. It's crazy to think when I first voted I voted for our first African American into office. And I felt proud we as a country is able to take steps forward. Seeing it crumble makes me cry.

You probably saw Joe Spivey haul a Byron biography today (or yesterday?) My grandma said to tell you to “Keep on trucking.” She said you should understand that reference. (🤷‍♂️) Enjoy your evening! 😺✌️

I do indeed understand the reference! So tell your grandma two things for me: 1) she's made the coolest comment I've had in months (she is, in fact, GROOVY), and 2) kindly remember that I'm only 28 and so have no idea what she's talking about!

We do not know each other Steve and I am far away in England. How do you tell someone who is proud of their intelligence and their developed world view that they don't need to be so upset because they are more than likely just wrong? I am asking for a friend.

@@saintdonoghue Thanks for a reply Steve. I get no pleasure to see somebody upset and I do feel for how you are feeling. It is very difficult to get all thought across in a few sentences. It is a bit of a the end of the world is nigh speech, which is of course a terrible dilemma. Either the end of the world is nigh or you are faced with not being correct. (Setting aside what is the best outcome for the rest of us!). For a start, I would hope that you would agree that it is impossible to actually predict the future with any degree of certainty? From the evidence before my eyes I do not see the rise of fascism or the arrival of a murderous dictatorship but I am willing to listen to any argument and evidence for it. I hope you are someone who is willing to listen to different views from your own as not everyone is. I love discussions because I always learn something from them. Honestly, if this thread is upsetting in anyway to you, particularly so soon after this decision, forget I wrote anything. Best wishes from over the pond.

a) I didn't mention a world view - mine or anybody else's -- in this video, and b) the Trump Court ruling I mentioned is as clear as a baseball bat to the face. No 'nuance' to it.
