What a lovely interview; descriptive, explaining and understanding. His advice certainly both anchored me from any doubts and aspired to embrace the writing process precariously. Thank you!

This is a great upload! It is interesting to think of the various ways I have written essays and such over the years. What fascinates me is the variety of methods I have used over the years. Your idea that one should start a work with an event or idea that interests you has indeed been the method I have deployed in some of my better works. As usual, thanks for all the great uploads!

Author Natalie Goldberg found that painting or drawing as a creative process produced benefits in her narrative prose. So when Macfarlane says play, I hear paint, or draw, or play piano, etc.

I am new to anthropological domain and working on mixed methods approach to tackle environmental issues. I heard from one of the reviewers of a journal that anthropologists interacts with others through humane, humble, simple and self awareness approach and anthropology deals in similar manner through a series of ethnographic views.. She said, before going to field, first go through some videos and look for interviews which explains above qualities... I am so surprised that anthropologists are themselves so humanistic in nature and how for doctors service should be motto, for anthropologist, sir's qualities are pre requisite. I am really surprised and congratulate prof sir and people who took this video which benefits immensely to students like me. Thank you.

Prof MacFarlane, Will you pardon my inexcusable though wholly unintended discourtesy, in not responding before. Rely on me to contact you. If I fail, it will not be for want of trying, and I will notify you accordingly. Best Wishes. D'Souza

Sunamika, It seems that during the last 12 months, no-one has written in, supporting your comment. So, might it be a good idea to have your hearing checked? I for one can hear Prof MacFarlane with total clarity.
