When solving a two step equation, the number you want to undo is the inverse. Use inverse operations, such as if the number is positive (+) then you’ll need to add a negative number so the sum would be zero. The number in front of the variable is connected through multiplication, therefore the inverse operation is division. Hope this helps...stay #MathStrong

It should be like this: 13x - 4 = -30 13x -4+4 = -30 + 4 subtract 13x = -26 13x÷13 =-26÷13, what you do to the left side you have to do the right side also x =-2 Hope you understand.

Add +4 to both sides to get rid of the -4 on the right side of the equal sign. -30 + 4= -26
