My teacher wouldn't talk to me about making up a quiz I missed, he walked away from while I tried to talk to him. So I left to go to my next class. I never made up that quiz, I got pissed. I know I shouldn't hold a grudge, but he gets mad at me when I ask questions now. Every time I ask for help with a question, he just fixes it for me instead of letting me go back and trying to solve it myself. He makes me feel like shit. He once made me cry because I didn't finish a test. He doesn't believe I have ADHD just because my parents won't have go to the school to say I officially have it. Long story short, math class is a living hell. These videos are keeping me going. God bless Brian McLogan because I'd be lost without these videos.

I've watched several of your tutorial videos before. I'm never disappointed. You say everything clear and upfront, no beating around the bush. Thank you very much for doing this for those of us who's teachers aren't as good at explaining things
It’s so amazing to just have someone talk it out and explain to you other than just following instructions from a book (which I don’t get 90% of the times -.-)
Thank you for explaining this in a manner that makes it so easy to understand. It helped a lot when my professor left me beyond confused by not actually explaining why she was doing what she was doing.
Amazing teacher! Thankyou so much for this lesson. Saved me from struggling.
I'm a third-year electrical engineering student who also is about to finish his computer science minor and math minor in a few months, completing the square always trips me up. I have to rewatch it every once in a while and this guy in 4 mins explained it better than all profs and teachers in the last 7 years of learning this.

Your instruction has been, and will continue to be extremely helpful over the course of my math journey. Thank you.
Thank you so much for making these videos! They have helped me so much and you explain it so well. My math teacher is so confusing and makes things unnecessarily complicated. Thanks again!
Working through this with my daughter for school. Man I wish KZread was around when I was a kid. If one teacher doesn’t make sense, you try another. Yours was the one that got it to click for me so I could talk it through with her. For fun, I tried this method on the basic ax^2 + bx + c = 0 leaving in the a, b, and c c as the coefficients instead of numbers. Holy cow! That’s where the Quadratic Formula comes from!
2:00 how did it go from x^2-4x+4 to (x-2)^2?
@saisha9266
3 жыл бұрын
when you do (x-2)^2 you do (x-2)(x-2) which is (x^2-4x+4)
@indiel2433
3 жыл бұрын
You use the foil method to get from (x-2)^2 or (x-2)(x-2), which are the same, to get to x^2-4x+4

Yes, you're correct. You first divide it by 2 which in this video (-4/2)=-2. Then you have to square that number which is 4. -2^2=4 because a negative multiplied by a negative is equal to a positive.
