Glad you love it too. It's not perfect, but I love that it's safe for septic tanks and can be emptied anywhere.

Only been living full-time in my mh for 5 months, and use Solbio because of the nearby septic tank I can use. Its expensive but worth it imo. I use it in the drains and grey water besides the toilet and it totally takes away any bad smells. Great product in my opinion.

Oh wow, that sounds amazing! I cannot stand the blue chemical smell from our caravan loo. It's not poo that smells, it's the flaming chemicals. They can actually wake me up at night if my hubby has forgotten to shut the loo cover thingie off 🤣 We have just bought a new caravan & I went on here to find what others are using.... Love these videos,s of yours i have recently discovered you,i wanted to ask about breakdown covers and obviously, breakdowns, Do you simply use the AA or RAC for driving around GB or is there a better option specifically designed for motorhomes , Do you normally have your van fully checked and serviced at a garage before setting off, and what sort of milage have you on yours and what milage is a no-no to purchase, we are both seriously wanted to join this club of traveler thanks if you can help with any of these points,PS sorry its long.

Saw this at NEC show and spoke to the same man but was a bit sceptical and didnt want to carry it back to the car park. Think i will try it now as do hate chemicals.. It did smell nice at the NEC.

Thetford aqua kem probably does the same. I don't empty every day.. But I see I can get this product here in Norway also,.maybe I should try it :) Edit; after hearing how complicated it is, I'm not gonna bother :p blue sachets work fine for me

Just bought 4L of Elsan organic ...so will try this stuff once that's gone. Looks like the ideal loo product.

I get very annoyed when somebody says "There are no chemicals in this at all." Even water is a chemical. Everything on earth is pretty much "Chemical". If you want to say no harsh chemicals, then say so but don't say no chemical at all. But that's my bit of OCD over and done with. Otherwise it's an excellent video. Much appreciated.

We use chem liquid in addition to our SOG. It won’t do any harm. SOG merely sucks the air out.

I’ve just heard back from the manufacturer who confirms it is complementary so I’ve order a bag, - “ all smells that ends well ! “ so they say.

Get a sog unit fitted they are amazing never had the slightest whiff from our toilet (and we love a curry) !!

Sadly that alone is not a solution for the smell issues when you empty the cassette.

Fit a sogg system it ventilates the smell through a charcoal filter.

White vinegar and bicarb. After a good rinse. Leave some water white vinegar and bicarb in for at lease 24hrs, rinse and prep as usual.

Looks like something I could try as well. Thanks for the info. Not sure about the marketing though. Vegan, huh? I wonder if the other products contain meat?

Hi Kat, took your advice and tried this Solbio expecting great results, how disappointing this product turns out to be, expensive and does not do the job, the smell is good for a few hours and then becomes very offensive, we followed the instructions to the letter, we shall be going back to our usual bio fluid!

Doesnt that involve escorting children across a campsite in the rain to find a sometimes substandardly cleaned toilet. Sitting on a seat thats been warmed by a stranger or worse weed on buy a youngster? I like your solution but I cannot see its always the answer.

Bio washing machine liquid does the same job.

do you still use pink for flushing the loo or use this in both the cassette and flush

DO NOT use the pink in conjunction with SOLBIO- you will :kill" the Solbio. SOlbio can be used INSTEAD of the pink! The other good thing: you only need to carry one fluid!

Would love to buy some, but sold out and they can't/won't say when they will have more in.

You should use Solbio instead of the pink flush (put in the flush tank as well as cassette). The pink chemicals will make Solbio less effective.

V interesting! Do you have any info on how long the shelf life of the product is? We’d take an eternity to go through that much product so depending on shelf life it could work out to be very expensive.

Your review almost tempted me to try this Kat, but having read the reviews on Amazon, I'm now really dubious, as a lot of them were VERY negative about the product's ability to do the job. I do wonder whether they failed to clean their cassette thoroughly before using, so can you please confirm whether you cleaned yours as per the salesman's instructions prior to use, as this may well be the reason why others found it unsuccessful?

Hi Judi. We always clean our toilet cassette thoroughly after emptying but no, we didn't clean it as per the instructions. We probably would have done if it hadn't worked, but it did so we didn't feel the need. I've not read the Amazon reviews, so can't comment on those. All I can share is that it's worked brilliantly for us and it's so simple to use that I'm not sure why people have had trouble with it. Perhaps worth trying for yourself and see how you get on with it.

Reading between the lines of those Amazon reviews, many said they were going back to "Thetford Blue" etc. This suggests that they might not have cleaned out their cassettes properly before using Solbio. FWIW, I've just ordered some but I currently use biological laundry capsules rather than proprietary chemicals. Bio laundry capsules (Sainsbury's own; 2 tabs a dose) cost just under half the price of Solbio and work well. However, the promise of the slight residual smell with laundry capsules being replaced by Eucalyptus and pine...

Yes, our experience is that it very important to get rid of all the old chemicals.. The chemicals even eat into the plastic and SOLBIO will struggle. The chemicals kill ALL GOOD Bacteria too and Solbio enhances and helps the good bacterias to break down human waste. Therefore I HIGHLY recommend to to the initial flush, maybe even twice. Once that's done- Solbio will work like gold and you will never go back to the "classic chemicals".

Sorry to be negative but I've tried it, it doesn't do what it says on the label, Yes it smells nice at first but after a short while it does not mask smells once you open the cassette slide even if you only do No1's in the loo we ended up using more fluid than recommended so it's not economical either, in my opinion it does not break down the solid material or toilet paper as good as other competitors environmentally toilet fluids, emptying the toilet cassette was the worst experience I have ever had

This is one of the most fascinating products. People seem to either love it or hate it. Sorry it wasn’t for you.

I’ve tried it for a few weeks and I’m not impressed. If my motorhome remains static on site then it works well. However, if you set off on a journey with a half full toilet cassette then the toilet stinks! Solbio doesn’t seem able to cope with the contents of the toilet cassette being sloshed around. It’s not always possible to empty the toilet before each journey if you’re touring. Sorry Kat but I won’t be buying any more.

Tried it , doesn’t work , if your moving around / mobile , it does not work , if your in a static , suppose it’s fine , but if your in a RV/camper don’t bother , back to the non bio tablets and zoflora

Method 1 : Don’t use the damn thing ! Method 2 : use next doors toilet! Method 3 : ban curries! ps eating a peanut butter sarnie while watching this, buy I am from Yorkshire though.

Easy solution is dont use it and shit in the woods
