Sir, the method you shown is actually cross multiplication method which is very time consuming in examinations. I prefer substitution method coz that will save us our time as between x or y you will have to cross out one of them and will have to take out the value of either y and x and just put the value in any equation to get the answer.

Nah, subt isn't ideal. Elimination method is just perfect and less time consuming, especially in situations where the constants are letters.
