@ina2769 no. it is not the same if we write X∝Y then X=kY but if we write Y∝X this means Y=kX or X=Y/k which is not equal to kY. please let me know if i am wrong.

@@gamerportal8872 Hmm, That's a great point, Though I think technically we can say both as in this example, there is no other addition of liquid involved, thus on increasing partial pressure mole fraction increases is correct but also if we increase the mole fraction ,since there is no other factor involved to increase mole fraction in the example, we can say that the partial pressure increases, but in writing we should only follow the basic formula which is P=khx. as u are correct, writing in reverse form would be x=pkh which is wrong. Please do share what u think of this
