Im very much the same way! Maybe meetups would be a good way for you to meet people - there’s no obligation to really go out of your way and if anything there’s an activity to focus on :)

Loved the last point, its not just about eating different food and seeing different places, a complete experience definitely includes meeting the people. I'm motivated to try crack out of my introvert bubble and do that when I visit South Korea.

I am 19 years old from England and I haven’t been abroad since I was 6-7 and my first solo trip I am going to Korea at the end of this month 😭😭 I have a bit of social anxiety so I am so scared but I know that I need to do it because it is one of my dreams ! that's true and i can see your point there, but i think it's also how one approaches and nourishes any friendships. these "friends for the day" could very well be friends for life if you nourish it properly. personally, i recognize that i'm not the best at nourishing these budding friendships, but i am also ok with having "friends for the day" on my travels.

Yes, you’ll have to figure out transportation by yourself, but a lot of hosts are really nice and will share convenient ways to get to them via public transportation etc

Where are you from

Kakao talk asks for some security number. Which is not there for people living outside. Then how to sign up? Inl want to keep in touch with a friend i made there.
