I once traveled from JBP to Kota in Dayoda Express, when we boarded the train there were passengers already sitting in the allocated berth in Sleeper Class. This led to confusion and Arguments between the passengers. Later on TT said that your ticket has been upgraded to 3A. This puzzled us as we weren't aware of any such concept of Ticket upgradation. That was my first and only experience of train ticket upgradation.🙂

I once travelled in NDLS-BBSR duronto way back in 2018 or 17 I guess, and i booked the ticket in 3AC and i reached the station on time but the train was late. When the train came to the platform, i boarded my coach and went to my seat. A couple with a small baby came and started claiming the seat, i asked them about it and they showed me their waiting ticket confirmed and the seat allotted was the same as mine and they told me to talk to the TT about it. When I looked at the chart outside, my name was not there and there was a start on the seat number. I saw a TT and enquired about it, he said your seat has been upgraded to first class. I was on cloud nine. I jumped in my old coach took my bags and went to the 1 AC as the train was about to leave and was mesmerized by the space, service and everything.
