Solo Skiff top speed

Спорт

After a few years of kayak fishing, I decided to buy the Solo Skiff, that little hybrid, part kayak part boat, the best of both worlds !!, I was impressed with the stability, and the enough room that has and the fast that runs, top speed with the Tohatsu 6 hp was 17.2 mph, and fully loaded 15 mph, its amazing I really like it !!!

These look fun. I have a motor on a square stern canoe, and a tiller extension really keeps your shoulder from getting still. I use a 4 ft piece of alum tubing a similar diameter to the tiller, and a foot long straight section of radiator hose and two clamps on each end. Leaving about 4 inches of hose in between to flex as a U joint

It's easy to launch it in the water, but what about retrieving it back in the car? Can it be lifted singly, or you need a helper?

What's this rated for 6hp? Someone has to put a nice old 80's or 90's carburetor pull start 20hp 2 stroke on her asap. I wish more people would mess around with old 2 stroke outboards and pair them with new concepts like this, the ambush, HCRAFT, Bote Rover etc. and see how they fare with engines 3-4 times as powerful as what the boats rated for but just as light or lighter.

its not the weight of the engine, if you look at most engines, the 115 weighs almost the same as the 150, its about how much force the hull is built to withstand. My buddy had a 16 foot aluminium rated for a 60 hp. he found a 90 that was was the same weight as the 60 hp. after a couple of trips out he split the hull on the v of the boat, right on the weld.

I use the internal tank and with that. 1 lt tank i can go between 5-6 miles all depends on the wind, the swells etc.
